Finally went to the Ombudsman and vowed never, ever to go back or take any product from them again. 14 years on I've still kept my promise to myself.

They said we couldn’t. Said we had to cancel the contract, pay a hefty cancellation charge (something like 10 months of the contract owing) and open a new acc in her name
