  @1womanworkforce If he’s working from the aol ap I would delete it and reload. We had a problem with aol a while ago. The old Ap wasn’t working. Change the password just in case on your web version.

  @teleject @meyerweb It kinda does though... With MSN Explorer (yes that was a thing in 2001, competing with AOL) we enabled "toast notifications" and the name was because "the little thing popped like the toast on the screensavers." Real toast never does that. It sits there. It sometimes Burns.

  @Miss_Snuffy Self pity finds many friends online from the earliest days of community forums up to today's toxic social media. "Share your support" we used to say at AOL and people did and lots was valuable, but a deep streak of 'alternative truth' bedded down there too to solicit attention.

  @ckneumann The dev team I worked with on one of my projects at Aol was from Mapquest. Absolute worst team I've ever worked with. But in this case, the fault was leadership.

  Oh... Just in case it hasn't sunk in yet AI being able to code as well as it does means that software as a product or service is DEAD AS A DOOR-NAIL It will probably stop twitching in about 4-5 years for most people, but expect some companies to hold on by charging subscription services until 25 years after they have become irreverent...   @_TheLaundryMat This whole argument seems silly to me. I have personally used AI to complete projects in a month that probably would have taken me several years without it. The productivity gains from AI, even in its current form, are already enormous. Could there be a bubble in some AI stocks or company valuations? Absolutely. But that does not mean AI itself is a bubble. Think about AOL. Everyone remembers America Online. AOL is largely irrelevant today, but the internet certainly did not disappear with it. You are probably reading this on a computer or phone connected to the internet at speeds that make the old 56k modem look prehistoric. That is the distinction people are missing. During the internet boom, many companies were wildly overvalued and eventually disappeared. But the underlying technology was real, transformative, and ultimately became far bigger than people imagined. AI will likely follow a similar path. There will be winners and losers. Some companies will fail, and some investments will prove ridiculously overpriced. But AI itself is not going away, and neither is the massive computing and data-center infrastructure required to support it. The bubble, if there is one, is in certain valuations—not in the technology or the demand for it.

  @theikigaiguy @amazon Yep, same thing day after day. And history will repeat. A company thinks it’s infallible, but lose one customer here another there. And it adds up. Before long they become Sears, Kmart and AOL. IMO; They will end up splitting shopping and prime off eventually.
