Josa Keyes (@JosaKeyes) reported from Ealing, England@Miss_Snuffy Self pity finds many friends online from the earliest days of community forums up to today's toxic social media. "Share your support" we used to say at AOL and people did and lots was valuable, but a deep streak of 'alternative truth' bedded down there too to solicit attention.

Sarah Pilates (@sarahpilates) reported from Camden Town, England@1womanworkforce If he’s working from the aol ap I would delete it and reload. We had a problem with aol a while ago. The old Ap wasn’t working. Change the password just in case on your web version.

John Jansen (@thejohnjansen) reported from Camden Town, England@teleject @meyerweb It kinda does though... With MSN Explorer (yes that was a thing in 2001, competing with AOL) we enabled "toast notifications" and the name was because "the little thing popped like the toast on the screensavers." Real toast never does that. It sits there. It sometimes Burns.

TheOneAndOnlyDunkirk (@one_dunkirk) reported@Pirat_Nation Maybe for the gaming sector, but in terms of raw money down the drain, it's no AOL/TimeWarner.
-
Gerald Thompkins (@notaracistbigot) reported@Switchblade97 @smolek WCW was worth $70M with those privileged slots AND the bloated contracts. If AOL relented on allowing wrestling but WCW were required to renegotiate the TV deals to market rate, it's not worth $70M WWF paid $4M because they were weren't required to take on the bad contracts
-
TheBougiePigeon (@plainOTXen) reported@IndexAndForget I entered college when dial up AOL was still a household stable but the dorm had T1 over Ethernet. People were downloading songs in 30 seconds and sharing on the internal network. I knew the end of AOL was near. Other similar tech companies on the timeline recently. $AUR $JOBY
-
Ricky "The Dragon" Rubinowitz 🇮🇱🇺🇸 (@JimmyChonga454) reported@TheRajGiri There was internal sabotage & money laundering from Time Warner AOL execs to burn WCW down It was a choice...if they were being buried by RAW in the ratings, they could've easily moved them to another night & rebooted TNA has lost way more money than WCW & have been around for over 20 years
-
TradeSilence (@TradeSilence) reportedAm an idiot. Meant to say Deterministic. In terms of "where in the cycle", may still be '91 to '93. Disagree with ChatGPT to Netscape comparison and instead better checkpoint is AOL moment when masses started paying for internet access. So far, 2% US households pay for AI subs.

imyours (@SRTGhost08) reported@wwc4022871 @JOKAQARMY1 We were into it in my world too, circa 2000-2004. ****, we can go back to middle school too. Once we got our first PC and a free 1,000 hrs CD-rom from AOL…. My horniness went through the roof
-
TomT (@Crashmak3r) reportedJournalists are warning us that we're in a tech bubble - as they share their message across multiple tech platforms - saying right now is akin to the 2001 tech crash in which the biggest tech company was AOL, who needed you to install a physical CD before using their AIM service.
-
Didumissthenews (@didumissthenews) reported@TheRajGiri Ted Turner in the early 90's had doubts because it was basically a money pit. But after Bischoff helped make it successful, he couldn't stop AOL/warner executives who hated wrestling to cancel it.
