    @anildash I can remember Microsoft trying to launch their own network to compete with the internet or so it seemed, I joined got an account then had to wait about an hour, via dialup, to cancel it, back to AOL it was for me.

    @CompoundInvestr @SteadyCompound The problem with purely "learning from the best" is survivorship bias. You only hear from the winners, not the losers, despite both following the same fundamental philosophy. Wonder how many thought Cisco, WorldCom, AOL, Yahoo were "wonderful businesses" and concentrated them.

    @yashar 1 point, for some reason I never had AOL. I think my parents were suspicious of the chat rooms, rightly so if we're being honest.

    @PsJustinSun This often comes up in resume review workshops and articles, how job searchers shouldn’t have a hotmail or aol email address because it makes them look bad, and it’s just so ridiculous. I love my Hotmail address. I’ve had it since ‘97. lol I like that you have a rare .ca one.

    @Q104Halifax I'm old and I've never had MySpace or used AOL. I avoided those somehow.
