@Cook_Estates @AOLSupportHelp At least I'm not the only one, was just on point of thumping laptop in frustration. 🙄 So will remain calm, now I know it's not problem at my end.

Shocking service from @curryspcworld today - waited in for 6.5hrs for a dishwasher that never turned up. Two different stories from the driver, both of which were crap. Now ordered with @AOL who will hopefully do a better job on Tuesday 👍🏻

@BekoUK I bought a Beko VCS5125AR Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Red from AOL 27/2/21 and in the past week it has cut out after using it for 10mins and did not restart for 20mins. Not happy. I would like it swapped for a hoover that works competently for the use it was bought for!

@ryanqnorth @CariCGA AOL *started* as a walled garden that connected you to the internet via dial-up...Then failed to understand things had changed. Not quite as poor a choice as going from the current state TO a walled garden in today's world

  • Ralphy_Lu RLStern (@Ralphy_Lu) reported

@IndustryTDT They’ve been brainwashed and when it crashes they better not be surprised. When WCW got sold, they didn’t deserve it, it was a **** merger between AOL & Time Warner. When modern wrestling crashes, they will deserve it.

  • BelleTheCat42 Pam Parsons (@BelleTheCat42) reported

@NoLieWithBTC I remember in the early 90s AOL tried to stop porn on their service so they used keywords that would block your search. They found out quickly it was a bad idea when the word breast was blocked and both cancer patients and cooks complained.

@RealBrysonGray It's not that uncommon. I used to work for AOL, and it was always an issue!Look at the positive!!

  • julian_west TheRealJDub (@julian_west) reported

Businesses had local area network emails like Banyan Vines, MS Mail, or Novell NetWare. Consumers online services like Compuserve, AOL, or local BBSes (remember FIDONET?). When Mail Gateways showed-up it was a mess. There were competing standards for messaging, like X.400. 2/3
