without being aware. I’ll never forget walking home from school one day, which I usually got A’s & B’s but didn’t feel challenged or motivated to be into it enough, when someone on a street corner of the subway handed me a floppy disk of AOL 1.0.

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • coleroz Duane Rozsnyai Jr (@coleroz) reported

@Spectrum, #SPECTRUM must be the worst internet provider. Claims to have an excellent uptime but in 90days service has had more #spectrumoutage than any other service provider since early 90s AOL!

  • javajoint daniel smith (@javajoint) reported

@Anticleric and btw I know AOL Online is redundant... I actually worked on AOL dot Com, which was the separate web site (not the service everyone thinks about)

  • stephaniebri22 Stephanie Bri 🏳️‍⚧️ Pagan Witch Socialist (@stephaniebri22) reported

First, NOBODY said the internet was going to fail, everyone expected it to be HUGE remember how FAST AOL blew up, dotcom bubble, yeah okay that happened because "everyone" was afraid of the internet lol. More technologies FAIL than succeed. It's EASY to pick the ones that will

  • The_shaw90 Christopher Shaw (@The_shaw90) reported

@SamChristense12 @Deadlyslob I'm assuming aol or yahoo? No fix yet

  • wyatt1970 steve bicksler (@wyatt1970) reported

well i just spent over an hour with @AOL tech support, all my emails from the inception of my account in 2004 till 2017 are all gone, they said oh well you might have "accidentally" deleted them, yeah right i deleted 13 years of emails without realizing it. what a crock of ****.

  • r0to00 robert alexander (@r0to00) reported

r0"this is hagiib from aol online.. how can i help you in any techie service?"

  • imres1stance theresistance (@imres1stance) reported

@JayWamsted I was 10 when the internet started growing, and email/instant messaging was born on dial up through AOL. It took a minute or two, but by typing the right words I could see all the naked pictures I wanted. At ten years old I made the decision never to procreate. I still thank God.

  • rajramos Bob Amos (@rajramos) reported

@Devan_Kaney I never use it but that’s messed up. During the instant msgr days I had a friend on AIM who would log in to check their AOL mail and I could tell they would suddenly go “invisible “. Don’t tech engineers have regular folk focus groups test this stuff out beforehand?

  • yu_angela Angela Yu (@yu_angela) reported

I’m reading this post on Reddit about “what is something used heavily in 2000 but almost never used today?” And I realise that everything on the list was basically replaced by a phone. MSN, Napster, CDs, maps, AOL… ok maybe except the coloured hair gel.

  • The_shaw90 Christopher Shaw (@The_shaw90) reported

@danziggs1 @Deadlyslob That's the danger of using ancient email services with terrible servers lol. It's not on BSG sadly, it's aol/yahoo and it happens all the time with them and security codes. I used to work at ezpass and for like 2 months we couldn't send them codes either.
