@BigJetTVLIVE I named 3 airlines on the above. Why say 10mins if you knew it wouldn’t be. You still don’t get the hang of it. Most of the times when I watch the freeview there are so many errors in it it’s unreal. If you didn’t have enough time then that’s bad planning on your side

@Claire_Pickard @sueashton3000 Many residents in Sunderland & along the Durham Coast also receive Freeview Channels from the Bilsdale transmitter. The fire is also likely to have knocked out about 30 relay stations, which "feed" on signals from Bilsdale. I wouldn't like to climb up the transmitter to fix it!

@JAMortram I saw the directors cut at the cinema first - so have never been subjected to it, but heard pretty terrible all round. On the Waterfront just about to start on freeview so have had to turn off TV otherwise that’s the evening gone!!!

Bad news: Bilsdale transmitter down due to fire meaning 1 million homes will not get freeview TV services... Good news: This means they will miss 'Love Island'...Every cloud etc; #wednesdaythought #Bilsdale

Freeview and radio services in North Yorkshire and Teesside have been affected by a complete loss of service at Bilsdale transmitter. Services fell off air at 1:26pm this afternoon. Viewers are advised not to retune.

@BBCNEandCumbria I live on the north side of the river Wear in Sunderland and my tv signal came from that transmitter. I've retuned both my tv and freeview box but the alternative signal isn't as strong and has interruptions to it.

@RadioToday I live in the Bilsdale area @RadioToday and it is day two without the transmitter not working. I have access to my DAB+ Radio and Virgin Media Cable. But I do also watch Freeview a lot.

Due to a fire at the Bilsdale transmitter, our local North Yorkshire DAB multiplex will have reduced coverage. The incident has affected all services from the transmitter including Freeview, local FM and national/local DAB.
