Sky have rights to other sports too, so a netflix football service would be yet another thing to pay for if you like multiple sports. More football needs to be on freeview channels like BBC and ITV.

However, BBC World Service is available in the UK on Freeview, so it's not as if you're paying for something you can't listen to, unlike when it was funded through taxation.
