@Fern_McGovern @SIofting @jckhth Nope. You can pay for a better service. Just as you can have Freeview TV, standard channels, most in standard definition but functional, or you can pay more for Netflix/Amazon/etc, Sky or BT with movies and sport in HD. Same principle applies.

TV breakdown update: Channel 5 now able to restore most services on all platforms. Exception:5 Select still off air on Freeview, but running normally on satellite. Channel 4's services worst affected across the board, although 4seven still running with a rpt of Grand Designs.

TV breakdown update: The worst is over for cable and satellite viewers. Freeview viewers appear to be worst affected, depending on which TV region you live in. This is because of Red Bee Media's role in getting TV services out to viewers via terrestrial TV.

Why is S4C showing E4 on Freeview in Wales? On Freeview, S4C is normally bundled together with Channel 4's signal where it replaces E4. E4 in Wales is bundled with other commercial services, where it replaces GREAT! Movies Action. (1/2)

@cleanfeed_ttvr C4 HD on Freeview has returned as normal (just jumping into the SD programming). Magic is back and so is 5SELECT (also with no mention of anything wrong). C5's My5 doesn't work for anything but 5Star right now.

P*ssed off with @Channel4 tonight. Settled down to watch #Deadpool2 - no HD, (on #Freeview), but more importantly, no subtitles! For the hard of hearing, like myself, subtitles are the only way we can follow the dialogue. Poor showing. 😡

@VAS6323 She's on Freeview, but likes all of that treasure hunter crap. I just daisy chain them all together for her, and she now has 7 "potential tuners" Just like my old man, "maximum potential"

@NadineDorries I hope you are going to hold a public enquiry in to the lack of an emergency plan for the state broadcaster Channel 4. The channel is still down on Freeview HD after several hours, other broadcasters have been able to recover/switch locations. This is unacceptable
