@Fern_McGovern @SIofting @jckhth Nope. You can pay for a better service. Just as you can have Freeview TV, standard channels, most in standard definition but functional, or you can pay more for Netflix/Amazon/etc, Sky or BT with movies and sport in HD. Same principle applies.

Really starting to think the TV Licence isn't worth it anymore. No not because of the usual childish reason that "I don't like what's on BBC1" but because of the COM7 signal being so degraded now with the 5G takeover we're getting 2nd Class Freeview and channels are vanishing.

@benji_writer @FutureDarren Hahaha, an oldie but a goldie. I watch a lot of 80s pop vids on Freeview. But why are they often such bad quality? And the aspect ratios off?

@colinwiseman3 We only have about 20 Freeview tv channels, none are Sky. The LNB on our satellite dish is dead and we haven’t had it repaired so no Freesat either… We rely on online services (although the Freeview online app service doesn’t work for us.)

Phoned freeview helpline. They did not recognise the web page talking of issues since 4pm yesterday. They also suggested not due to the weather in the West Midlands. So I am back to square one. I expect it will sort it self out.i give up at this point.

Big mistake to remove @BBCNews HD from Freeview. Hotels, airline lounges, foyers etc where BBC has prevailed for years will switch to another news service rather than retrofit freesat or IP based solutions just to keep the same channel :(
