Gerry Carpenter (@GerryCarpenter3) reported from Sunderland, England@Claire_Pickard @sueashton3000 Many residents in Sunderland & along the Durham Coast also receive Freeview Channels from the Bilsdale transmitter. The fire is also likely to have knocked out about 30 relay stations, which "feed" on signals from Bilsdale. I wouldn't like to climb up the transmitter to fix it!

Just as you can have Freeview TV, standard channels, most in standard definition but functional, or you can pay more for Netflix/Amazon/etc, Sky or BT with movies and sport in HD. Same principle applies.

You already have to be logged in to use it and they could disable viewing of videos until the login was attached to a TV Licence. As for TV over the aerial, when they turn off Freeview it will all be IPlayer for BBC access.

Plus the change over to Your TV . TV Warehouse never went nationwide on Freeview i wonder why not?

Jay (@Jay_Stewart1) reported@GSpellchecker We’re not in a good tv reception area, and used freesat but the dish kept playing up. In desperation I tried an old, small and powered internal tv ariel that plugs directly into the tv and sits next to it, and we get a perfect freeview signal. Worth a go before spending loads.
