If we're in lock down for another 3 weeks, I really feel the #sonyChristmasChannel should be put back on #freeview...Will keep people in the house ( okay, it'll easily keep me in the house🎅🤶🌲

  • JonnyRoLi JR (@JonnyRoLi) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@Fern_McGovern @SIofting @jckhth Nope. You can pay for a better service. Just as you can have Freeview TV, standard channels, most in standard definition but functional, or you can pay more for Netflix/Amazon/etc, Sky or BT with movies and sport in HD. Same principle applies.

  • AddingRandomWit Adam Widdrington (@AddingRandomWit) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@bigpapablu @itvfootball I don’t have a sky or freeview box! I stream everything and have very good internet so it’s never an issue haha

@Jamie_Harte71 @MatthewStadlen How, technically, would you make it a subscription service for those who do not have reasonable internet access and/or Sky/Virgjn/BT TV, the base service of all of which cost more than the TV licence. >10 million people in the U.K. have Freeview.

  • DanielNvB84 Daniel Nicholson (@DanielNvB84) reported

@RmnMark @MartinSLewis Yes, Freeview on a Smart TV. Thought I'd miss being able to pause, rewind and record, but with catch-up and smart apps you just don't need it. Pay for Netflix for films etc but can obviously cancel that whenever I like.

@catstockholm @GBNEWS That’s ok yea i managed to see if the Tv Freeview was working and their Tv version in UK is working. prob they had an internet broadcast issue.

  • Emily23355 Emily♥️ (@Emily23355) reported

So annoying, my favourite channel, freeview 20 weak signal so no longer works.

  • carmadchris Chris (@carmadchris) reported from Hazlemere, England

@LlamaBusiness @skytv Bailed on them last year, never looked back Unless you live in the sports channels, look at what you get for your £, then see what would be free on freeview/freesat & what is on other services like Netflix

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@williambecket @NadineDorries Hi William. The most popular way for pensioners to receive TV is via Freeview. The licence fee pays to maintain the Freeview transmitter network. Presumably this “pay rise” for pensioners can then pay for this?

  • Mark56623345 mark Hughes (@Mark56623345) reported

@a516digital Its excellent lift conditions out side tonight, bad news for freeview users, but great news for long distance reception, my talconeston reception is bang on 100% thats over 68 miles away.

  • LRackstraw Luke Rackstraw (@LRackstraw) reported

@williambecket @NadineDorries The cheapest Sky package I can find is £26 (which includes the "tax"-payer funded freeview service). Letting the BBC go commercial would mean that pensioners would save £13 a month but they wouldn't get any TV for that. So in effect you'd be doubling the cost for pensioners!

  • ETusty Emma T (@ETusty) reported

Not just freeview issues, but our internet is also flickering.

  • justine_j Justine J (@justine_j) reported

@FreeviewAdvice We suddenly lost our Freeview channels, we've tried rescanning but can only get 30ish channels. Can you help?
