@MariaMichalis @All4 C4 is in talks to join Britbox... and you get surveillance on any streaming service, even ad funded. That’s how they can target the ads and tell you where your nearest car dealership is (new in All4). Only Freeview lets you keep anonymity

@a516digital I personally am happy for an ip future, if and when it finally takes off. But i think the bbc might be too ambitious for 2030. Freeview is a good service where you can get it.

@Matt_1269501 What would you do - upgrade the UK's internet infrastructure so that everyone can get the BBC over 5G or the internet (reasonably impossible) or replace Freeview with an encrypted service? (also impossible)

@whophd @meadea @domknight From what I've read, onDigital/ITV Digital was plagued with reception and piracy issues however overbidding for TV rights to a lower division football league was their biggest downfall. Although in a way, the failure of it + the later rise of Freeview was probably a good thing.

@itvhubhelp ITV hub will not load on Freeview Play on my Panasonic tv or Humax pvr, is this just double bad luck? Not a smart move from itv as there must be many viewers like me. Will a different pvr play through my tv, if so which one.
