Only reason I mentioned that song (Tarzan Boy) is because I've been watching a lot on NOW 80s on Freeview channel 83. I didn't realise that apart from some good songs, how much crap there was as well in the 80s 😂

  • Marmalord Marmalord (the) (@Marmalord) reported from Epsom and Ewell District, England

@itvhub Humax FVP-4000T 1TB Freeview Set Top Box Recorder, and having to sign in more or less every time is making us all dislike Martin Freeman

They sometimes lock the door and we have unreliable WiFi so often have to reset it. So at night when it goes off, we just have to wait and hope it comes back on. And even when it is working, the signal upstairs is really bad. We don't even have freeview so rely on WiFi for TV.

  • dead_folk DeadFolkClothing (@dead_folk) reported

My @davechannel has no signal on freeview and when I rescan my tv channel 19 has vanished altogether now. Is this widespread or is my TV on the blink?

  • lewysstacey Andrew Harris (@lewysstacey) reported

@SteffApCennydd @shearersbuddy @Inandoutagain But the BBC set up britbox a subscription service easy enough. The other Freeview channels can stay where they are free of charge.

  • a_parandroid paranoidedededed (@a_parandroid) reported

@BBCNews the price isn't a dealbreaker, although if they stopped aggressively bullying those who own a tv but don't watch freeview, they would save a shitload of money and could afford to bring the license fee down, which would be nice

  • FireyRoxy Roxy 💙 wear a mask and respect other people's 2m (@FireyRoxy) reported

@A_48er @Brandad2E @lindaarella The method sky uses is to download in the background via the satellite signal and splice them in later. Hard to do on Freeview and Freesat as the platform is more open and needs to be able to operate without Internet or hard drive storage.

  • storey966 Tynmar (@storey966) reported

@DaveMcleanComms That is your choice. But many people rely on the BBC as a free to air public broadcasting service. Its a bit like paying your National Insurance & choosing to pay medical insurance to go private instead of using the NHS. Also, you get to watch all the freeview channels as well.

  • Obla_da_obla_di Ok (@Obla_da_obla_di) reported

@WilmotOf @MrKenShabby @PalaeoHan License fee pays for the broadcast network infrastructure Channel 4 uses - freeview and Freesat, and contributes to U.K. broadband rollout.

  • dramachannel Drama Channel (@dramachannel) reported

@chrvashby07 Thanks for letting us know Chris, we'll pass this onto the tech team to look into. Were you watching live on Freeview or using another service?

  • MarkSzczepansk3 Mark Szczepanski (@MarkSzczepansk3) reported

@TalkingPicsTV I can't get talking pictures on Freeview the as signal isn't strong enough in crumpsall Manchester which is a pity

  • SteffApCennydd SteffApCennydd (@SteffApCennydd) reported

@shearersbuddy @Inandoutagain Because the majority of UK viewers get their tv service via Freeview and it doesn't have the tech capability to go to a subs set up. Cummings had this explained to him in detail which is why his & Bozo's plan to scrap the tv licence was quietly shelved.
