@dgwbirch @Barclays Looks familiar. @HSBC_UK does the same thing. Go over your daily payment limit and, rather than say that, you get a indecipherable error message leaving you to imagine it’s an IT issue or worse. Why are established banks so bad at this stuff!?

@HSBC_UK i had applied for a credit card on 26 mar 2022. Called the customer care 4-5 times since then finally came to know that the application is approved, all clear from the underwriting services team, it's sitting with the banking approval team. It's been a month !!!!

@HSBC_UK Livid I spent 20 minutes talking to two HSBC reps today about the direct debit for my credit card not going out, to be told that the bank had cancelled my direct debit in error without my instruction and THEN being hit with a late fee after I thought it was all resolved.
