People in Shotton Colliery near Peterlee tell ITV Tyne Tees they heard a loud ‘bang’ that they thought may have been a car crash as a parachutist landed on the roof of a house this afternoon. The man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Part of the issue is that a lot of people have a problem with cruelty affecting certain species but couldn’t care less about others. That really needs to change. @chrishainstock @ITV Worst example I’ve seen of this is the DVD release of the US version of The Office. They’re unwatchable. Everything is played at a stupid speed and everyone is high pitch. They fix it across the boxset and later seasons are fine - first three though! Argh!
