Smarty uses Three’s network underneath, so check its coverage in areas you live and go. You might also lose some features compared with Three. (eg, Plusnet Mobile uses EE & lacks its WiFi Calling)

AL (@systematicdata) reported@Robdunk @YouTube Hi mate. Just to let you know I discovered the problem. If you are with BT or plusnet apparently they added YouTube to their parental controls setting. Turned parental controls off and YouTube all working again.
