Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

@Bushellj @TalkTalk I have a couple of those too - however the delay on the iPlayer #WALENG stream was almost two minutes so I was getting spoilers sent by text! Also the BBC uses HLG for its iPlayer UHD and the old 2018 version of Firestick doesn’t support it. Need to buy a new one!

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

Now I use my own router rather than the dodgy Chinese one supplied by @TalkTalk. I was also fairly confident that there was no problem with our internal wiring but the ‘engineer’ proceeded to cut the wires to all our internal sockets.

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

@TalkTalk I’m not asking for any information about my account. Just a simple answer to the question why do you think it’s right to treat your customers this way? (PS I used to be a data protection expert so please don’t give me any BS about GDPR and not being able to answer my question.)

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

We waited in for the engineer. Surprisingly he turned up on time. He said that he was here to fix the ‘bridge tap’ which was all he did. @TalkTalk said there was a problem with our internal wiring.

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

I tried @TalkTalk’s ‘live chat’ to explain that their engineer had decimated our house wiring but I was then told the problem was my router. (Lesson to self -Do NOT use live chat)

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

He then pronounced that he had ‘improved’ the speed and left saying it would get better still in a couple of days. The problem was that there was no change - other than courtesy of @TalkTalk we no longer had working extension sockets.

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

@TalkTalk Hi, a new box is now (belatedly) on its way but does not record. Why have you degraded the service and increased the price?

  • alanprice65
Alan Price (@alanprice65) reported from Borough of Torbay, England

@TalkTalk Hi. I'm losing hope here. Are 0808 numbers free from TalkTalk landlines with no 60min limit, as shown on your website? I'm being told I get charged for all 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers. Help!!!

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

If you have ever suffered a Broadband fault you will have some idea of the hell that is @TalkTalk customer service. A thread on how not to do things.

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

.@TalkTalk NEVER listen to what you are saying to them. It now looks as if I will have to sue @TalkTalk for the negligence of their engineer in disconnecting our sockets unnecessarily. Aaaarrrggghhh!

  • nuggyleach
Amanda Leach (@nuggyleach) reported from Exeter District, England

@Peter_Follett @virginmedia Try TalkTalk. I left a Virgin £80 per month 'Faster Fibre' TV + phone package in December. Connection always dropping..Had no problems with our internet since and now pay £35 capped for 24 mths! Plus their live chat is much quicker than trying to get hold of Virgin!

  • kellyvicker
Kelly Louise Vicker (@kellyvicker) reported from Borough of Torbay, England

@TalkTalk I was told Thursday I would be getting a call from a manager within 24/48 hours which hasn’t happened. I want to leave your company and you can’t even get that right let alone the 2 years of awful customer service and awful connection. I would like some answers please!

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

I then spoke to a fault manager who also said the problem was my router. I told him that the fault was with the external BT Openreach wiring. I plugged in the crappy Huawei @TalkTalk router and lo and behold there was an external fault.

  • annarosebotha
Anna Botha (@annarosebotha) reported from Pinhoe, England

@TalkTalk Your team have advised us to ring s number to cancel our account but it says it isn’t working?!

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

The problem is that you cannot trust @TalkTalk. They lost our data to a plague of Nigerian hackers who pestered us daily. Then they gave us a new telephone number which was from another customer whose data had been lost.

  • Sal_Salvatore_p
Sal-v 💙 (@Sal_Salvatore_p) reported from Bovey Tracey, England

@TalkTalk Unable to send DM from your X messaging link? This intermittent Wifi and No internet, is really annoying, especially when I've only recently renewed a contract with you! No problem on my line, so I guess it's your servers?

  • shaldonangler
Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

So two number changes later, we no longer use the landline much. We’ve now got no extension sockets despite not ever having a problem before. We’ve spent hours talking to @TalkTalk but there’s one big problem....

  • Rudders3082
Rudders (@Rudders3082) reported from Exmouth, England

@TalkTalk hi my broadband has just gone down

  • annarosebotha
Anna Botha (@annarosebotha) reported from Pinhoe, England

Wow @TalkTalk you are awful! We are trying to cancel our account as your broadband is terrible. The phone lines to cancel accounts is closed. If we don’t cancel today we don’t get our money back. How can we ensure we get our 30 day guarantee back please without the charge?!

  • MandyPearse
Mandy Pearse (@MandyPearse) reported from Teignmouth, England

@danslee @virginmedia That’s shocking customer handling Dan. If it’s any help I’ve actually found the guys @TalkTalk pretty good especially on tech issues around broadband.

@entrustTMF @virginmedia Only way to get good service is to use BT/Open Reach as provider; but you will pay! I have had Shell, TalkTalk and now Utility Warehouse as my contract changed hands. All equally poor in their own way. At last house, in the middle of nowhere, had BT, and never had a problem.
