@virginmedia 50 minutes on the phone. 6 operatives. Nobody can tell me when the fibre will be fixed. First today. Then Monday. Then the 17th. Then the 22nd. Then the 17th again. Like I said - a shambles. Service cancelled. @Ofcom @bt_uk @SkyMediaUK #hitmeup

  • adam7485
Adam Thompson (@adam7485) reported from York, England

@virginmedia I’m more bothered about getting the same offers as new customers. Never understood why companies don’t value the customers they already have

  • barstep
Barrie J Stephenson (@barstep) reported from York, England

@virginmedia Your service, (Broadband, TV and Phone) is off again - the third time this week with extended out of service notices on your status update page. This is unacceptable when so many people are working from home. Why is this happening so frequently?

  • FulfordPhil
Phil Marsland (@FulfordPhil) reported from York, England

@bt_uk repeated calls from allegedly BT Open Reach saying slow internet speeds/internet compromised. I'm with @virginmedia and when questioned they just hung up 01234222910 number. It's a scam to take control of your computer and get your personal data.

@virginmedia You at 16:05, Jan 25: I cannot get through to your call centre. Please accept this message and confirmation as of 28 days to terminate my account with you as of January 25th 2020. Account number 724766503

  • dreadedwhisky
Guy Rushworth (@dreadedwhisky) reported from York, England

@EE There’s a distinct possibility that I’ll be switching services in the imminent future. The help from @virginmedia has been laughable. However, having spent £10 to top up the EE SIM card and then finding out I can’t contact your customer support because it costs 25p extra is rich.

  • adam7485
Adam Thompson (@adam7485) reported from York, England

@virginmedia 1 of 2. I’ve spent 52 minutes on the phone, spoke to 3 different people which means security 3 times. Managed to log a complaint as my service has been down since the 16th. My contact runs out in Feb so I asked about lowering from the 200mb as I won’t be home much in the new year

  • knitting_tsuki
Hayley Dumont (@knitting_tsuki) reported from York, England

@virginmedia I’ve just been on hold for AN HOUR and then you cut me off. This is terrible customer service! How am I supposed to get hold of someone to discuss the problem I’m having with my broadband?

  • dreadedwhisky
Guy Rushworth (@dreadedwhisky) reported from York, England

@virginmedia Thanks for the response. As far as I’m aware I can’t text you so you can run diagnostics. I also can’t call you free. As my phone won’t connect with your network all of a sudden. The phone is fine as the SIM card I had to buy to keep working is having no issues.

  • Gaarmstrong318
Geoffrey Armstrong (@Gaarmstrong318) reported from York, England

@virginmedia I’ve lodged another complaint for this, not entirely convinced you will fix the issues. Being force to fought up for extra CPE in order to make your piss poor service to work is frankly disgusting

  • MadAsAfwog
Adam Wilson (@MadAsAfwog) reported from York, England

@FreezoneIsm @RyanMoss96 @ligomersall @ChrisJonesInuk @GaryLineker Doesn’t help with the broadcast of programs about life on the dole showing a minority of people playing the system....clearly not working but with sky AND virgin tv....no wonder people can’t understand when they are fed this from the media..

  • lfcemma
Emma Puckrin (@lfcemma) reported from York, England

@virginmedia Been a virgin customer for 4 years. Prices going up. Quality of service, both customer and connection going down. Give me a valid reason/s to stay with you My package going to be £90 when new cust £60

  • Gaarmstrong318
Geoffrey Armstrong (@Gaarmstrong318) reported from York, England

@virginmedia getting so sick of having to deal with you. Raised a complaint in August had one missed call in August and a letter in September saying you would get it touch only to be told you are now closing the complaint cause I haven’t spoke to you..... seriously this is a joke

  • Lorimergrant
Grant Lorimer (@Lorimergrant) reported from York, England

@yardley24619673 @virginmedia You asked when you posted on social media. I only asked why you carried on if the sales man was so bad. Would you buy a car if the sales man was so bad

  • ChadIssac_
Chad (@ChadIssac_) reported from York, England

@virginmedia WiFi down AGAIN in YO10 you’re a joke literally 2nd day running

  • barstep
Barrie J Stephenson (@barstep) reported from York, England

@virginmedia 24 to 48 hours to obtain a PAC code from you is not acceptable. Why are your systems not working? I tried using a text message but directed to make a quick phone call. After 20 minutes (quick?) on a call I’m told your system is generating error codes.

  • GergoRagalyi
Gergo Ragalyi (@GergoRagalyi) reported from York, England

  • SerenaStampfer
Serena (@SerenaStampfer) reported from York, England

Oh god I got a letter saying that CityFibre are going to be digging up my street "soon"(wth does that mean? Next week? Next month?) and I'm dreading it after the awful débâcle of Virgin Media doing the same thing some years ago.

  • fogey
Gareth 🇪🇺 (@fogey) reported from York, England

I’ve never had a heartbroken ex (my last was over 30 years ago and it took her months to notice I’d gone) but I imagine it’s a similar experience to leaving @virginmedia - suddenly they’re attentive and concerned, and won’t stop asking me why I left. Bit late for that now, love.

  • Gaarmstrong318
Geoffrey Armstrong (@Gaarmstrong318) reported from York, England

@virginmedia I saw the disclaimer. What is really shocking is I’m having to have this out publically with you. Your offshore call centre is not fit to diagnose issues. Every times I’ve called with a major fault I’ve been told there is an area fault and to wait for it to be fixed.

@virginmedia @MizzCQ I strongly urge anyone thinking of subscribing to @virginmedia to NOT do it. Took over a hour to get through to customer service & they still won't fix their mistake. Shambles of an organisation.

@Johnty14 @virginmedia I worked for VM as a tech and I wasnt one of them but it was common practice by some rltwchs to feather knock so they could put the job off and blame the customer for not being in..

  • ExpanseCon
    Expanse Consulting Ltd (@ExpanseCon) reported

@MikeScheider_ Not a vodafone issue. Looks like a core switch failure, optical cross-connect fault or other fault inside one of the central carrier-neutral hubs. It has dropped interconnection across multiple fixed ISPs (Virgin Media, Eir, Siro, NBI) simultaneously.

@virginmedia I was sold Gig2 2Gbps symmetric in June. The upload was never delivered at the contracted speed. After three separate calls got nowhere, your Faults team corrected it, then applied a £6/month surcharge for the speed I had already bought. 1/

  • Irate_Jobbie
    Irate_Jobbie (@Irate_Jobbie) reported

@AwTroon Many, many years ago, I called virgin media to tell them I was leaving. They asked why, I said you don't offer value for money anymore. Sorry you're leaving but that is the best price, you already have. It was expensive. No problem, bye now. Next day, virgin cold calls me. Asks me to confirm who I am. I said no, you are calling me, you should know. Guy was annoyed as he was phoning to offer me a better deal. I said fine, I'll call the same retentions team I called yesterday to leave and I'll know it's actually virgin. He got angry, said they can't offer discounts, only he could and if I didn't confirm my details, he couldn't give me the offer. I just told him I could no longer do business with virgin due to such poor security procedures. He seemed very angry about the fact I wasn't willing to give personal identifiable information to a stranger cold calling me. Never paid them a penny again.
