  • bigtoodle
Peter Tuffy (@bigtoodle) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia I can hear a band playing a tune but it will not be to my benefit. I phoned today about being overcharged obviously the call handler was so inept she cut me off rather than fix it. But she did get in the fact that this terrible service was going up by 20% next month.

  • trippfuller
trippfuller (@trippfuller) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia is the worst. Three days of off and on service has cost me significant time and money.

@virginmedia Is this in progress? I haven't seen any resolution?

  • thelifeoftul
Tullia (@thelifeoftul) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@ScottM083 @virginmedia If that’s the case then Virgin need to communicate this to their customers as the lack of communication is doing more damage than the lack of wifi at this point! 🙈

  • gajarlove
Evelyn Love-Gajardo (@gajarlove) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia no landline or Internet at EH16 6GD since early this morning and your website appears to be down so it can't be reported.Update please?

  • lethalshirl

@virginmedia I am going round in circles trying to speak to someone or email you with problems I’m having with broadband & TV! Your system keeps knocking me back - I just want help! #frustratededinburgh

  • thebarfly
The Bar Fly (@thebarfly) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia Nothing. The frustration is there’s no record of an outage yet I’m now told it will be 21st when that is fixed. At which point my issue is still going to exist and I’ll have to phone the awful call centre again to beg for an engineer.

  • Nowhereman91
Ally (@Nowhereman91) reported from Kirkcaldy, Scotland

@virginmedia a want to upgrade my account but your site hasn't let me view my options in over a week and I can't get through on the phone. Please help.

  • vcash78

Trying to downgrade/cancel your @virginmedia is made harder than it ought to be! Perhaps of your customer service was better then I wouldn’t have made this request after all these years. Diabolical and shoddy! There was a time when I’d have only recommended them over competitors!

  • fergus_wright
Fergus Wright (@fergus_wright) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@Will_Jeffs @virginmedia Tbf ive had problems with my wifi for the last few days, what i done was unplug everything then wait a couple of mins then plug it all back in again then it was fine.

  • SobukweScozia
James Smith 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇮🇹🇿🇦 (@SobukweScozia) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia BTW. It’s not an ‘intermittent’ issue - I’ve had no service at all for 18 hours, and what exactly does ‘taking us a little longer than usual’ to fix actually mean?

  • thebarfly
The Bar Fly (@thebarfly) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia And the scheduled engineer call tomorrow got cancelled because of this unrelated and later supposed outage. It’s a farce.

  • EdiDisgraces
Edinburgh’s Disgraces (@EdiDisgraces) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

Cost of living advice - IF Virgin Media ask for a big price hike tell them you are going elsewhere but will stay for the same price as a new customer would pay. It takes a while but saved £800 (over 18 months) today and will get more for same price/no increase @MoneySavingExp

@virginmedia Fibre broadband down in Edinburgh (EH10). Can you confirm if there are issues in the area?

  • thebarfly
The Bar Fly (@thebarfly) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia I also phoned to report on Thursday but was then told yesterday there was no record of that so must be lying. The customer service on the phone is truly atrocious. Your services are great when they work, your customer services the opposite.

  • gajarlove
Evelyn Love-Gajardo (@gajarlove) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

@virginmedia It's not showing up and it's now been down since first thing yesterday. They are elderly and need their landline to be working. Is there a way to speak to someone if it's not fixed by 4?

  • tootsieiam
tootsietweets (@tootsieiam) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland

Friday night powered by 5G since @virginmedia delivery via @YodelOnline seems to have disappeared into the ether. So work was painfully slow, and now I’m cleaning the fridge because, it seems everything in this 1860’s house is reliant on broadband. Thank god for @EE 📱

  • char_bone
    Charlotte 🦄🧚‍♀️ (@char_bone) reported

@DiBrander We left Virgin Media because they were awful at fixing issues. We had a fault go on for over a month but no compensation because you have to have full service loss. It was over £90 a month too.

Everyone's focused on $AMPG's US story. And fair enough, they're expanding fast across America. The only American 64T64R AI-RAN radio, deployed at Telus, a Strategic Partner in the DoD-funded Open6G hub next to $NVDA and $QCOM, and the CEO just said new major carriers may go straight to POs next quarter. The US story alone is plenty. But here's what almost nobody is connecting: it was never going to stop at America. On the last earnings call, CEO Fawad Maqbool pointed somewhere else entirely: "Our success being the largest O-RAN deployment in America is helping us reach out and reach further into Europe and other areas of the world". That's the strategy in one sentence. Win the flagship at home, then use that credibility as a passport into other markets. And it isn't just talk. The groundwork is already there. Receipt 1, the concrete one: AMPG signed a 5-year supplier agreement with Fujitsu Spain back in October 2024, explicitly expanding its reach across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. So when the CEO says "Europe," there's already a signed, multi-year channel underneath the words. Receipt 2 is hiding in plain sight: the United Kingdom. Look at AmpliTech's customer wall and you'll find Digital Catapult. Most people scroll right past it. But Digital Catapult isn't a random logo. It's a UK government-backed innovation organization, funded through Innovate UK and DSIT (the UK's Department for Science, Innovation and Technology). And it runs SONIC Labs, the country's flagship Open RAN testing facility. Here's where AMPG enters. Its 64T64R Massive MIMO radio was tested at the O-RAN Global PlugFest in London, hosted at SONIC Labs, with HTC's G-REIGN providing the DU/CU stack and AmpliTech bringing the radio. The only American radio in the room, validated inside a UK government-funded laboratory. Now the part that makes it interesting. Who advises SONIC Labs? All four of Britain's major operators: EE/BT, Three, Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone UK. They sit on its advisory board, shaping what they need from Open RAN vendors and acting as potential future buyers of the vendors who pass through. So picture it. AMPG's radio validated in a government-backed UK lab, whose advisory board is a who's-who of every major British carrier. The entire UK Open RAN buying ecosystem, in one room, watching the only American radio perform. Now let me be completely honest, because that's the only way this is worth anything. There is no signed UK contract. The British operators advise SONIC Labs, they do not own it, and they haven't bought anything from AMPG yet. This was a product-validation milestone, not a revenue event. Anyone telling you the UK government or a British carrier is about to hand AMPG a deal is getting ahead of the facts. A foot in the door is not a sale. But here's why it matters AMPG keeps showing up in exactly the rooms that matter. The US DoD-funded Open6G hub. The O-RAN Global PlugFest as the only American 64T64R radio to pass. A signed channel into Europe via Fujitsu Spain. And now a UK government-backed lab advised by every major British operator. And the CEO saying they'll expand to Europe. That's the pattern. The same playbook, repeated across the Western world: get the only American radio validated, get it in front of the buyers, and let the sovereignty tailwind do the rest. One market at a time. This isn't a company waiting to be discovered. It's methodically getting itself in front of every major Open RAN buyer in the US and Europe, one validation at a time. The contracts are the next step, not the first one. A foot in the door isn't a deal. But you never get the deal without it first. And AMPG's foot is now in a lot of very important doors. Still sub-$1B while all of this quietly compounds. Not financial advice. I'm long $AMPG. DYOR. 📡

@virginmedia Still no Internet. A full day without Internet and no update as to what is the issue or when likely to be resolved. Definitely be leaving after contract. WFH and this isn't first outage. Never had this with previous provider.

  • Sheppo1874

@alisonclay71 @virginmedia They’re the worst. I was a customer for over 10 years and moved house recently. They refused to move the service to my new house. Incredibly poor service. Also, be prepared for them to chase you constantly to return their kit or they’ll charge you for it!

  • ads913
    keith addy (@ads913) reported

@virginmedia I understand they're introductory, but the gap is £51/month for the identical package. That's not a normal "new customer discount" that's a loyalty penalty. What can you actually offer me?
