  • garethbalmer
Gareth Balmer (@garethbalmer) reported from Gloucestershire, England

@virginmedia has someone been a bit fat-fingered and pushed out a firmware update or something in the Gloucester area? Few people are having issues with their boxes restarting - ours went with a big click of the HDD, which was a bit worrying!

  • AlexBennettUK
Alex Bennett (@AlexBennettUK) reported from Gloucestershire, England

Over 40 minutes (and waiting mainly on hold) for @skytv to sort out the fact I can’t download any content. I’m apparently a “Diamond Customer” as I’ve been with sky for about 20 years. Not for much longer. @virginmedia what offers do you have for disgruntled Sky customers?

  • Hammerdan13
Hammerdan (@Hammerdan13) reported from Cheltenham, England

@virginmedia I am trying to cancel my contract, but you have sent me down a conversation with a computer. You are now in breach of our contract as you have failed to cancel it or listen to me upon my request. Your customer service is embarrassing!!

  • FoodAndFifa99
Jeff Stelling🎙 (@FoodAndFifa99) reported from Gloucestershire, England

@Lucy_Hamson @virginmedia My whole WiFi has been shit recently x

  • RobGueRAF

  • WoodyWitters

@virginmedia Hi. I am still having issues with my business WiFi so it has not been fixed. I have intermittent service with it dropping out for a good five mins before coming back again.

  • maiellamipiace
maiella (@maiellamipiace) reported from Gloucestershire, England

@virginmedia I already did your survey but you knew what I thought when you tried to force me to take on an 18 month contract after my original one ended. You treat customers like a cash crop. I make sure to tell everyone not to use you. You could have kept my business when I move but not now

  • FasbytesReality
𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗯𝘆𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 (@FasbytesReality) reported from Cheltenham, England

@virginmedia Doh just booked a technician and the status page now updated to say there is a service area fault . Do I need to cancel the technician ? Or will that happen automatically?

  • maiellamipiace
maiella (@maiellamipiace) reported from Gloucestershire, England

@virginmedia Oh please. Of course it wasn't resolved - unless you mean, did we get to keep taking your money for a service you don't want? Here's a thought: how about NOT holding long-standing customers to ransom by tying them into new long contracts?

  • Barnsey02
Steve Barnes (@Barnsey02) reported from Quedgeley, England

@virginmedia I love Walter Presents progs on C4 & recently watched 1st ep of Monster. Tried to find rest of episodes and All4 app. Appears I can’t with you and have to watch online. Is this another reason to never have this box?

  • Duranium1991
Matt (@Duranium1991) reported from Gloucestershire, England

@virginmedia Hello. A new router was due to be delivered today as part of my upgrade to 1gb broadband. I never received a message from Yodel & didn't receive a delivery.

  • natsc0tt
    N A T A L I E👼🏼 (@natsc0tt) reported from Cheltenham, England

Call me a Karen but lol imagine paying £80 a month to be getting 1mb of internet and you can barely contact them and when you do they hang up on you🥴 #virginmedia @virginmedia is a piece of utter **** and is a disgrace of a company😤

  • the_fbpe
Lord Lefty cultural attachè for Gloucestershire (@the_fbpe) reported from Brockworth, England

@virginmedia OK thanks I pay £110 a month for my service as someone who subsists on a pension and disability benefit this is a big commitment and yet every time I pick up the phone to you I am lied to, for example we are receiving a lot more calls than usual, this is a permanent refrain

  • joe_joeharper
Joe Harper (@joe_joeharper) reported from Cheltenham, England

@virginmedia love lying about putting you on a rolling contract and then hitting you with a £200 pound cancellation fee when you try to cancel after you’re forced to move home. Nice work!

  • WattsChelt
Ian Watson (@WattsChelt) reported from Cheltenham, England

@virginmedia You asked me to keep you posted, I’ve had no response. It certainly appears to be a problem with the hub because the WiFi is not really performing well. I’ve got three TiVo boxes and a C6 + broadband and it seems no one cares. Quite poor.

  • tfalees
tommytheoralsurgeon (@tfalees) reported from Cheltenham, England

@virginmedia hi guys. Out of contract and I’ve received a message to contact you. How best to fix a new deal and router 4?

  • lucebarnett
    lucy barnett (@lucebarnett) reported

@EE I was on a call for 42 minutes this morning and got nowhere. Nobody wants to take any responsibility and suggesting I didn’t order despite the fact SIMs have moved over to One plan and Virgin Media contacted me about leaving. Very poor service

  • markkinga
    Mark King (@markkinga) reported

Is @virginmedia in trouble?, as im trying to work out why i need 2 to 3 sales calls a day. I get a rubbish email once a week. Why not email something i might be interested in rather than constant phone calls im sure i never consented too.

  • abz_06
    Abbie (@abz_06) reported

@virginmedia you have left my 71 year old mother without internet and TV since 18th July due to a “problem in the area” and now you’re saying it won’t be fixed until 31st July? Two whole weeks you’ve left an elderly person completely isolated with no form of entertainment.

  • WolfofX
    Wolf of X (@WolfofX) reported

In 2003, Stan Beaton lost his wife, Ruby, to stomach cancer. Before she passed away, she had recorded the voicemail greeting for their home telephone. It was an ordinary message to anyone else, but to Stan it became the last recording of her voice. For more than a decade, he kept that voicemail safe. He even stayed with the same phone company because he feared changing providers might erase it. Whenever he missed Ruby, he would call his own home just to hear her say, "Sorry, at the moment, Stan and Ruby are not available..." For him, those few seconds were enough to bring her close again. Then, in December 2014, a network upgrade accidentally deleted the recording. Stan was heartbroken. He later said it felt like losing his wife all over again. Believing there was nothing left to lose, he contacted Virgin Media and asked if there was any way to recover it. What followed was something no one expected. Eleven telecommunications engineers spent three days searching through backup systems for a single deleted audio file. They described it as looking for a needle in a haystack, but they refused to give up. They found it. Instead of simply returning the recording, BBC Radio Leeds arranged a surprise during an interview with Stan. As Ruby's familiar voice filled the room once again, he broke down in tears. "That's her. Wonderful. Wonderful." The company later gave Stan permanent copies of the recording on a CD so he would never have to fear losing it again. It wasn't just a recovered voicemail. It was the return of the last words he could still hear from the woman he loved, a voice that had waited silently for years until someone cared enough to bring it back.

@virginmedia I'm already planning on cancelling my service. This must be a speed run record as I haven't even plugged in the router, nor received the damn thing.

@virginmedia Hello! I still haven’t had an activation email to be able to watch TNT through HBO App. I have TNT in my package. I have chatted on live chat to different people who keep saying ‘wait 24 hours for email’. 24 hours later… no email! Getting no support😔

  • uxbridgeblade

@virginmedia when are you going to fix the broadband issue in ub9 6be? It’s been dreadful since Monday 20th July

    @chrislove_89 @virginmedia Into em .. they’ve got your cash and don’t give a ****. Won’t get a reply or support

  • NothingLane
    Richard Bignell (@NothingLane) reported

@trapdoor456 @virginmedia Nope, but much the same story. Dumped useless Virgin years ago. Now with @zeninternet. Once you start a contract, the price NEVER increases. They're a UK company, so absolutely no overseas call centres and the tech service has been first class.
