@VodafoneUK over a week now waiting for my number to port over, haven't had signal since last Monday. Customer services keep feeding me the same old "we need another 24hrs to fix the issue". I'm bored 😞 Not the best start to switching networks!

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This is appalling but unfortunately happening all the time. Same issues with Vodaphone insisting on speaking to my mum who was in a nursing home with dementia, so she could answer some questions for them, seriously infuriating and very upsetting at the time 😡

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Same here. Mum had threats of debt recovery because we couldn’t cancel my deceased father’s contract. She ended up paying about 6 months after he died because it was impossible to sort it. Disgusting company.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Had a similar issue with a different company after my mom died. They changed their tune quickly when I said that her debit card (preauth payments) was already cancelled and being that she’s dead, she won’t care about a poor credit rating.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This must be a strategy because the exact same thing happened to us in Poland in the early 2000s when my grandfather died, right down to the debt collectors (a firm with a sinister corvid name I can't remember). Must have been imported with all the other nice bits of capitalism.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK My sister had a similar problem with Sky when she lost her husband and with three young children to care for. She kept being told, because it was his name on the account they had to speak to him. She suggested a seance.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Yes. @comcast does the same thing in the USA. No method of cancelling online. No staff on chat system. Hours long wait time on calls. If you do get to someone, they make it as hard as possible to cancel.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Not sure if it's possible. How's about a class action suit?? With yourselves and a list of all the others who've been so mistreated. Lobbying everyone to cancel their account and reporting them might help too!
