@VodafoneUK can I suggest that it's not a good policy to suggest that a customer seeking an upgrade goes for the smartphone they upgraded from 2 years ago and then pays £6 a month extra for the privilege.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I'm a @VodafoneUK customer and recently had a run-in with them regarding a simple contact upgrade and agree wholeheartedly with your improvements for their customer service approach.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This is great - would also add social media teams not using generic “I’m sorry to hear this please send details and we will look into it”. Rubs salt in the wound / underlines how customer support is not joined up. Should be “our bereavement team will call you today / tomorrow”

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK @Fidomobile does the same in Canada. On the advice of tech support, we drove to Ottawa to GO INTO A MALL DURING A PANDEMIC to talk to a human being in one of their kiosks to cancel a phone that she hadn't used in 2 years. No go. Instead, they've sicced a collection agency on her.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Vodafone is probably the very worst of the worst. They wouldn't know a customer if one fell out of the sky and landed on them. Appalling shower. Hence leaving them this year after having been a customer since their early days, when car phones, not mobiles, were the thing.

@VodafoneUK useless internet coverage can’t tell me when issues will be resolved, a manager will call back in 3 days engineers report in 7 days. I still have no service but you keep taking your monthly money for providing no service, but would like to charge me £309.57 to cancel!

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Many points apply to dealing w. vulnerable relatives, via PoA. VF staff in Cairo were sympathetic, if not able to help. UK staff were worse. Need rules vs. mis-selling. My rel was sold a data contract they didn't need/use. VF shd be obliged to review accs & offer better tariffs.

@W0NK042 @VodafoneUK ... and the FAQ also says : "We’ll be meeting the government’s ambition to turn off our 2G service by 2033 – so we won’t be retiring our 2G network anytime soon."
