They did that to me and said it was did online so they can’t do anything but had to stick with them for another 24m with the same contact!!!! My phone is unusable without WiFi for 8 hours a day. I've resorted to using @VodafoneUK. I've still almost another year of my contract 😡

But if you phone and shout loud enough they’ll either let you leave or give you huge credits. They know it’s broken - just won’t publicly admit it.
