Mic Wright 🏳️🌈🏴☠️ (@brokenbottleboy) reported from Poplar, EnglandWhen it first arrived — and I made a blog there within the first two months of its public existence — @tumblr was the near perfect blogging platform. Then AOL destroyed it. Now it’s a horrible jail where I can’t get rid of this dumb screen. Thanks @automatic.

Mike Yardley (@YardleyShooting) reported from City of London, EnglandUtterly useless service from AOL/Yahoo/TalkTalk yet again following my complaint reference the breakdown/failure of their systems. So irritating when you pay for a service and don't get it. I was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. @AOL
-
Sarah Solomon (@xSarahSolomon) reported from Camberwell, EnglandAGREED! Every kid except me had nice shiny internet...we were stuck with that shitty AOL dialup that we were only allowed to use to play Cartoon Network games on if we were good 🥴

Mike Yardley (@YardleyShooting) reported from City of London, EnglandI was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. If it doesn't work, they shouldn't take my money. @TalkTalk is a useless outfit too. I was called for months by fake Indian call centres after their data hack. My home internet sucks. @AOL @Ofcom

-
SHAKSINGH (@shaksingh) reportedI still remember how the entire anti-hindu gang had started abusing AOL over a non existent issue.
-
Steve Harvey 🇬🇧🇨🇦 (@steveharvey2001) reported@AntiEVidiots When EVs were niche, driving one was like being part of a community with a shared secret. Similar to being on the internet in the early 1990s, before the AOL hordes turned up with their poor netiquette.
-
Robert (@RobertKidd0x) reportedI'm old enough to remember the days when people said the internet would never catch on and just be a fad. Look how far we've come from dial-up and AOL. We're at a similar beginning now with AI. When change is unavoidable, you have to embrace it, if you are to survive.
-
Todd AF (@BigTodd1776) reported@DavidShafer I thought @mapquest went out with AOL online, my bad...I do remember when cassette tape got feisty with Compact Disk for about 15 minutes, then they just went away. Bye Mapquest.
-
MissouriCowgirl (@mocowgirl15) reportedFor me, it's more that this person has spoken to me in 10 yrs then acted like I've never been on SM or the Internet before when I've on the Internet since I was 8 yrs in the infancy of AOL chatrooms and all the SM platforms. I'm well aware of how to post and my posts.
-
Rakesh Agrawal (@RakeshSFNYC) reportedBeyond the usual senior leadership problems at AOL that doomed Mapquest, there was another: channel conflict. Mapquest had a LOB that was store locators. They would sell widgets to retailers and other businesses that they could put on their own sites. Split personalities like that are always tough. When one side is paying the bills (store locator) it's hard to ship the future.

LKA (@katiwa_4) reportedSomeone decided the Adams Arcade lights are not working… with Ngong road matatus flying like they have no breaks … Aol yawa.
-
Khazar Theory Enthusiast (@ashkenahzee) reported@KayakZztee5 @tombelaviv_ At least he has a gallbladder and a mother. One who didn't die ashamed. One who didn't have repressed anger towards her son for being a useful idiot of the feds just like Jason Kessler and mentally ill disabled former employee of Oddcast and AOL. Sven is his new mommy. Evil mommy

⚔️Tina Truth⚔️ (@_tinatruth) reportedAs the numbers kept falling... Another problem was unfolding inside AOL Time Warner. The merger had combined two companies with entirely different cultures. Many of the original Time Warner executives saw AOL as an overvalued internet company whose success had been built on a stock market bubble. AOL executives believed Time Warner executives simply didn't understand the future. Instead of building one company... The two sides spent years pulling in different directions.

Kitty 🐈 Ⓜ️🕸MikeCryptoLife 🛡🐈 (@mikecryptolife) reported@theswansjr Internet isn't a good example. It's like saying ohhh we can see because there is light, name something that's replaced light. You should ask about AOL, Netscape, napster type ****. Those were the Bitcoins of internet
