    My favorite AOL/AIM profile was simply Times New Roman size 12 white background simply saying "Loading..." and away msg was "just got into a really bad accident. be back later"

    I remember back in the late 90s, my bro and I were kicking back some *** beverages, went on AOL IM and started throwin shade on this skateboarder kid. We told him he was prolly crappy and ****. He was coming unglued. So I guess that’s when the spiral down began. Thks AOL…..

    @SomerInTheWind Those rules never completely applied. They were IMPLIED. And it was easier to not be in everyone’s buttcrack back when the Internet was basically AOL+dial-up, and fandom writing was basically just Fanfiction[.]net. Social media has changed the rules.
