  • JMD422 Jill Degen (@JMD422) reported from Salisbury, New York

@AOL WOW worse Customer Service EVER! Trying to reset my password was told can’t call back again. Two tries and still no access to my account. Now have no access to my email way to go AOL 😫

  • CherylHeuton CherylHeuton (@CherylHeuton) reported from San Diego, California

@cFidd @EricKleefeld I find it odd, if not curious, that the moment I hit “send” on my column that’s highly critical of the 1990s, my AOL service disconnected. Inexplicably, it will be out all decade. Never happened before. Probably just a wrinkle in time. I drove to Prodigy and sent the column.

  • xJohnZoex Mrs Brazy (@xJohnZoex) reported

It’s annoying calling customer service lines and the person you end up on the phone with has cheap equipment. Like it’s no reason I should be hearing an AOL dial up while we’re tryna connect in the phone 😭

  • Chuck_Swanson Chuck Swanson (@Chuck_Swanson) reported from Audubon, New Jersey

@aolmail Please fix the doggone Verizon email app. So tired of having to do my username and password every time I use it. Like twice a day. I’ve complained for months to no avail. Fix. It.

  • jhamby Jake Hamby (@jhamby) reported from Los Angeles, California

The original Microsoft Network, now forgotten after it quickly rebranded into an Internet ISP bundled with Windows, was designed around the AOL style of having a rich native Windows client to provide GUI interfaces to network resources at lower bandwidth than the then-new WWW.

  • hikariuk Chris Crowther (@hikariuk) reported from Maldon, England

@theretrobyte I think I would still have been with Dungeon/FlexNet back then. Never used any of the likes of AOL, Freeserve, etc.

  • jjburroughs_ Jessica Janee’ (@jjburroughs_) reported from West Palm Beach, Florida

    I feel bad - but I CRINGE, H A R D, when l see Yahoo & AOL email accounts. #sorrynotsorry

  • parabasis Isaac Butler (@parabasis) reported

@sarahw @heybonanos I was part of a network of local BBSes in DC (one of which was eventually the subject of a Buzzfeed feature???) but for some reason never did the AOL/Compuserve/Prodigy thing

  • NoCoWolf1 NoCoWolf (@NoCoWolf1) reported from Greeley, Colorado

@DanielNewman I remember AOL, Compuserve, Netscape dial-up. It was horrible.

  • ChefHoneyWood G. Hoüze (@ChefHoneyWood) reported from Grapevine, Texas

@darkpinkdivine The aol feels heavy now and it’s moving hella slow. Lol
