If you guess your aol password incorrectly three times it locks you out for 12 hours. No customer service override. This is not how you provide customer satisfaction an why I moved to Gmail 😂

An instance is like selecting an email service. You may be on gmail, but yr pals on aol or yahoo. You can still email one another tho. That’s how decentralized communication works. If AOL were shut down, u cd migrate to gmail, etc. or u can start yr own server. That’s the concept

@herBUTTERFLYway @il0venostalgia That's not the AOL sound. That's the sound from logging into a privately hosted BBS (Bulletin Board Service) or CompuServe. AOL didn't exist yet when I first started going online. Neither did the World Wide Web. Yeah, I'm old.
