@jaxlfc_jj @YaTerrynorris70 It’s not restricted to the BBC. If you watch or record live TV on any channel - either through your TV or through a website - then you need a TV licence. This applies whether you receive Freesat, Freeview or a pay-TV service in your home, & whether or not you watch BBC channels.

@Richard_K_P @OldBlueyes @virginmedia That’s unfair quoting facts people 😜 I had the TV outage. It was during the day and could easily use Freeview until it came back. WiFi was fine. Since VM/O2 merger I’ve had my mobile data doubled and broadband increased to 350 from 200 - for free! Roaming announcement also 👍👍

  • pauljholden PJ Holden (@pauljholden) reported

in the end dropped the landline (haven't used it in years) and dropped the tv package (we're watching everything either online or catchup or on freeview - which, weirdly, in HD seems to be a better quality). Knocks from 56 (+4 increase) down to £46 (and no increase)

  • james__love James Love (@james__love) reported

@AndyofAlliance @ChrisHazzardSF Try it on freeview. Depending on where you get your signal from you may be able to get it. If it’s in the 800 channels you will, 50s you won’t.

  • ROBMER ROBERT MERCER (@ROBMER) reported

@grannypatt @TalkingPicsTV I've been having problems with freeview lately so this might explain the situation,i am in the London area.

  • Mark56623345 mark Hughes (@Mark56623345) reported

@BenJohn45874515 Freeview is a very patchy service, and what you get very much depends on where you live, if you live near a relay for example you only get around 20 channels, if its a transmitter you get around 70, or half what you get off freesat or the free channels on sky.

  • JamieNemeth Jamie Nemeth (he/him/they/them) (@JamieNemeth) reported

Next week on my Twitch stream: Freeview watchalong! Can't see any potential issues with rebroadcasting content from the BBC, ITV, Channels 4 and 5, UKTV, Quest, etc. I mean, they're literally giving it away for free on Freeview! That's how copyright and fair use works, right?

  • BenJohn45874515 Ben Johnson (@BenJohn45874515) reported

@Mark56623345 Apparently you can watch test transmissions on Freeview. Not sure how though as I've never had Freeview before.

@FreeviewAdvice Hi, I’m trying to get RTÉ on Freeview in Belfast. I’ve tuned my TV and all the other channels save RTÉ are showing up. I should be in an area that benefits from the RTÉ signal.
