if a public service broadcaster has to participate in a ‘market’, then all a commercial broadcaster has to do is produce better content. ITV doesn’t. Netflix doesn’t. that shouldn’t be made the BBC’s problem.

He acknowledged that again and again in TV shows, interviews. He's spent a lot of time, effort and money to help various charities, of course not telling the tabloids.
