Credit where it is due. Samantha at Natwest got it sorted and compensated me for the problems. Well done to her. @NatWest_Help should be grateful. @AskNationwide the ball is in your court to keep me as a customer.

@AskNationwide Well I do hope that it's sorted before any other transactions go through today because I'm expecting a payment of £500 into my account and also expecting Tfl to take money from my account overnight. If the problem isn't sorted out then I will not be able to get to work tomorrow.

@AskNationwide maybe you can help me, seeing as your in-branch staff just said “go online” and your phone line has had me on hold for 30 minutes. I want to close a savings account and take out the money, but I can see no button to click on for this in online banking.

@dave_murray1981 @AskNationwide Don’t try and mug me off pal. The economy requires then banking systems to work. If they overload the systems by closing thousands of branches, then can’t run an online system there’s a serious problem in the banking sector! Zero justification, it’s not their money it’s ours!

@AskNationwide If you are "working through the backlog" this suggests that the issue has been identified and fixed. Please can you confirm if this is the case. Thanks.

@AskNationwide This is ridiculous, it’s bad enough that this is happening, but so close to Christmas, people are getting stressed and panicking, get this sorted and sort out some competition, this is going against terms of service, sort it out.

@AskNationwide The warning in the app just says 'payments issue:'. It does not explain it's *your* issue!

@AskNationwide No update, no plan, no communication, no one to respond on chat or on the phone, no access to money, no ability to pay bills, credit rating will go down, fees will stack up… A JOKE. Are you having wine and cheese in the garden or what?!

@AskNationwide This is clearly a major incident of catastrophic proportions. Customers deserve more information than it's broken. Has root cause been determined? Is there a general ETA? What are you going to do if my wages can't be paid in?

@dave_murray1981 @DaithiSabh @AskNationwide I lost a £2k customer because I couldn’t travel for my meeting. So yeah… people are due compensation

@AskNationwide I can’t believe a huge established bank is STILL having these issues. It’s been ALL day. People need access to THEIR money more than ever this time of year. I for one will be changing banks in the new year this is disgraceful.
