    To the man in M&S Corby who paid for my lunch when my card was declined, thank you. You made my already bad day a little better. I will donate to a local charity. To @AskNationwide who incorrectly put a block on my card and caused me to burst into tears at the till, raspberries.

    @CerianJohn @AskNationwide Same thing happened to me, tried to make a small (£15 quid) payment and was declined. Apparently some sort of glitch. Bit of a wait on the phone, I guess that's why...

    What a nightmare with @AskNationwide You have to use mobile or online banking, which I do not want, so I cannot pay any bills, their telephone banking will not help. I'm switching to @BarclaysUK their customer service is so much better - and I got to pay my bill!

    @Coastermitch @AskNationwide Gave up after 25 minutes on hold but have a similar block on my CC and spoke to somebody today who was told by customer services it had happened to a lot of cards.

    @rstar666 @AskNationwide @BBCNews So glad to see someone else asking about this. I have been having problems for a couple of months and was initially told it was just me. Have exchanged countless secure messages. Getting apologies now but no resolution. Having c card blocked today by IT error was last straw!

    @yiuie @AskNationwide My credit card was declined this morning. When I eventually got through to Nationwide I was told that I was one of a number of people who had been blocked by an IT error. I was then unblocked and transaction went through later. Surprised they didn't tell you that in the tweet.
