@tabamatu @DrunkRes Erm - BT Group own Plusnet, and Openreach will still be responsible for the line. If connection issues are due to line noise, unless the router is better, may not make a huge difference...

So the resolution for my aunt is who to give hundreds of pounds to: @Plusnet or @BTGroup, for a problem caused by them. Oh, and they’re actually the same company.

@WhichUK I’m with Plusnet and I wish they would offer a social tariff but I rang up and they said they have no intention of offering one. I could switch to BT but their customer service is notoriously bad.

@Debs2500 My Plusnet BB/'phone package went up - which they are allowed to do because of increases from people like Open Reach. Increase £3 per month. Still a good service, though.

@Plusnet We have taken charge of Geoffrey Seal account as he has gone into care, we sent you the power of attorney documents and you agreed that, as named attorneys, we could make decisions. Now your very rude person on the end of the phone refuses to talk to us at all about an overcharge

@PaulbernalUK @Plusnet @BTGroup I've missed the earlier part of this story. Sounds horrible. Dealing with BT can be a nightmare. Leaving aside the resolution/compensation of the current situation, what's the cost/feasibility of leaving these service providers? For internet & phone, better service is possible.
