Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Girton and nearby locations:

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@camcanary lost @virginmedia at the moment. Nothing on the service status page but this time the Cable Modem is flashing green indicating an outage

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@virginmedia Thanks. It’s just been registered (wasn’t showing when I first looked) and showing an expected fix estimate of 12th Feb 😱

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@UKPowerNetworks short (7 minute) power outage experienced in CB245** @virginmedia service lost as well as @EE service too. I know the value of a UPS and while I recognise that residential broadband isn’t protected, I’m shocked that the EE mobile service was compromised.

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@camcanary @virginmedia Yes outage around 9.10-9.25 and another one between 9.35-9.45

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@virginmedia broadband outage in CB245* again. A couple of short outages today already but this seems to be a bit longer and nothing on your status page to indicate a problem...

  • danj2k Dan Jackson (@danj2k) reported from Cambridgeshire, England

Hey @virginmedia why is my Internet up and down like a yoyo this morning? Are your systems breaking down under the load of people completing the census or something?

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@JohnJef51763960 @virginmedia I didn’t see that issue. My most recent outage was 18.00-18.10 yesterday. No issue was reported on the status page.

  • cdyer98 Claire Dyer ⚯͛ ⁷ (@cdyer98) reported from Great Shelford, England

@virginmedia internet down in cb22 . system checker says nothing is wrong and fiancé is fast asleep (and knows all the passwords) so can’t get through to report the issue- usual 12.30 drop (5mins ish) happened and then it cut off completely at 4.20am

  • AmanCoonar Aman Coonar (@AmanCoonar) reported from Cambridgeshire, England

@virginmedia Sorry but your Wi-fi delivery, reliability and customer service is a joke

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@virginmedia I’m using the hub in modem mode. From the logs (which only go back to 9.12am) there are several critical errors coinciding with each outage. It’s looking like the modem isn’t getting a response from VM at that time.

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@virginmedia is there a problem with credentials today. I can’t login to VM and I know my user/pswd is correct.

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@virginmedia Yes. Service is restored at the moment but understand it’s an ongoing issue. Usually a short outage (9 minutes) but this was 25mins this time.

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@JohnJef51763960 @virginmedia My neighbour & I are now monitoring & recording the outages. There has been 4 today - all about 10 minutes each. We’re seeing the same problems at the same time so there must be a common fault. It needs @virginmedia to investigate their equipment...

  • ir_427 cj hubbard (@ir_427) reported from Cambridgeshire, England

@virginmedia We're on M100 fibre. Speed isn't the issue. The issue is that whole thing stops working for no clear reason; no warning lights, no issues on the service check website. It takes out all the devices at once. And it's been getting worse since the bill increase was announced.

  • PetarKralev Petar Kralev (@PetarKralev) reported from Fen Drayton, England

@virginmedia Another bot service that resolve nothing ! Thanks but no thanks

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@virginmedia Got through within 2-3 minutes on hold. sepal did a great job diagnosing the problem and reset my password. Thanks for your help

  • danj2k Dan Jackson (@danj2k) reported from Cambridgeshire, England

@virginmedia Yeah it's not WiFi because it's affecting my pc which is connected via an Ethernet cable to the back of the hub. Just now it went down and came back up but there was no change to the lights on the hub.

  • nleaney Nigel Leaney (@nleaney) reported from Willingham, England

@virginmedia @JohnJef51763960 I’ve added log files to the Virgin community and have been assured that someone will be looking at the issue. From the logging feedback received suggest this is not a customer premises issue.

  • tombowran Tom Bowran (@tombowran) reported from Willingham, England

ironic that the hold music on @virginmedia ‘s “help line” contains the lyrics “please don’t let me down”. The very reason i’m calling for the upteenth time. 100 hours since i was promised a manager calling back in 48hrs, and 48hrs since they said it would only be another 24 hours

  • Lord_Drainlid Mick Brown (@Lord_Drainlid) reported from Cambridgeshire, England

@steveeejg It looks like to get a basic fibre service it might be around £25 and for higher speed from about £40 monthly. One test is will they charge to plug a home phone into a router and allow a landline no to be transferred? Virgin Media charges, putting the monthly rate up to about £55

Virgin Media Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Liverbird_73 Liverpool Girl (@Liverbird_73) reported

@virginmedia I’m going back to work now. Another 30 minutes wasted. I’ll add this onto my complaint - if anyone ever writes back to me.

  • DanielLong88 Dan Long (@DanielLong88) reported

@virginmedia Hi. I always check the area outages. They always say the same thing... no problems to report... but there are problems!

  • MissusMalarkey jojo (@MissusMalarkey) reported

@virginmedia Too often it says the service is fine when it isn't though, not just today. And I know that Internet was down from at least 01.25 last night as I was woken up by the weather at that point. Either way, it's apparently now a known fault!

  • BernardThresher Bernard Thresher (@BernardThresher) reported

@xxluvleaxx @virginmedia The broadband doesn't work. I've been on hold for 140 minutes so far.

  • BernardThresher Bernard Thresher (@BernardThresher) reported

@virginmedia 20 minute wait for Customer Relations thus far. 154 minutes

  • sankapil TheIndianFireTrail (@sankapil) reported

@virginmedia Looks like your network is down in the area and as a user we could do with it up and running asap

  • JackVerlander Jack Verlander (@JackVerlander) reported

@virginmedia has to be the worst broadband I have ever experienced. Every time I phone up they ask me to check "Wi-Fi blackspots" when I'm right next to the hub. Binning them off as soon as I can

  • sunsetsoulsissy Alexandra (@sunsetsoulsissy) reported

@virginmedia Your helplines are a joke. I am trying to cancel due to having to move out of my house and in with family due to redundancy and getting through to your team is impossible... I have been cut off/hung up on multiple times when I get to the point of cancelling.

  • playerhayer Aman Hayer (@playerhayer) reported

@virginmedia I have done this several times throughout August, it seems there is no accountable team or person looking at it and every person I speak to says they will own it but never does. Is there no complaints department I can speak to? I've even asked for a manager call back and get none

  • Mataniels Stuart 💙💛 (@Mataniels) reported

@virginmedia Hi, So I have had continual drop outs ever since I joined (24th Aug) and I have just run diagnostics on the router and have 32 devices with this error (31The device d6:ac:98:74:62:0d has low signal strength, please move it closer to Hub 3.0.) I live in a small 3 bed house??
