@KwakuMMNT 112 by default. Jagged Edge were broadcasting to us using 2001 AOL dial up. Horrible signal.

When it first arrived — and I made a blog there within the first two months of its public existence — @tumblr was the near perfect blogging platform. Then AOL destroyed it. Now it’s a horrible jail where I can’t get rid of this dumb screen. Thanks @automatic.

I’ve been with AOL all my internet life. Just recently it keeps telling me my password is wrong; I put the same password in again & it’s alright for a while. Today emails appear then suddenly vanish, is @AOL trying to dismiss me. Help!

Still having intermittent trouble sending/receiving emails on my @AOL account. Updated password on AOL via Safari; it works. Does not work through my normal email channel either sending or receiving. Systems don’t seem to share info - help!

@dannyodwyer I had AOL from 94-98. One day I went to log in and got an error message. Tried my brother and my parent's accounts. No dice. Called customer service. They told us they had no record of us ever being customers. The guy was nice but we were flabbergasted! It was a bizarre day!

@brassicGamer My favorite DOS game was the Mickey Mouse one Mickey’s ABCs and we got it for free for agreeing to AOL service during a McDonalds promotion. 😎 But my grandma sent it to me too cause she heard I liked it and pretty sure I had a trial only. Coincidentally my first video game

@levie This is an interesting perspective. The forums, AOL chatrooms, etc. that I used back in the day were more civil and highly moderated compared to the **** people feel free to say on social media now. That includes the degen gambling forums. One simple rule was no personal attacks.

@St1ka I did tech support at AOL back in the day, I have talked to people who thought the mouse was a foot pedal and others who didnt understand why they could not get online during a power outage. Needless to say it made me lose faith in humanity pretty quickly

@MTDguy @williamlegate They were charging people for internet access through AOL when people already had internet access, they just didn't realize it. Once you got something other than dial up, you didn't need to pay for AOL, yet they made it incredibly difficult to cancel. Bastards
