Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, EnglandRecurring @AOL password problem; keeps telling me “incorrect password” again; had same problem a month ago. When I input password it is accepted for a short while then same message appears again; infuriating! HELP!!!
-
Chris Romer-Lee (@chrisromerlee) reported from Lambeth, England@aolmail A family member has received the most appalling customer service from #aol. Utterly shocking. All she wants to do is reset the password as she’s been locked out & the response was effectively, go away and set up another account. She has replied, but I’m not happy.
-
John Jansen (@thejohnjansen) reported from Camden Town, England@teleject @meyerweb It kinda does though... With MSN Explorer (yes that was a thing in 2001, competing with AOL) we enabled "toast notifications" and the name was because "the little thing popped like the toast on the screensavers." Real toast never does that. It sits there. It sometimes Burns.
-
Josa Keyes (@JosaKeyes) reported from Ealing, England@Miss_Snuffy Self pity finds many friends online from the earliest days of community forums up to today's toxic social media. "Share your support" we used to say at AOL and people did and lots was valuable, but a deep streak of 'alternative truth' bedded down there too to solicit attention.
-
Chris Romer-Lee (@chrisromerlee) reported from Lambeth, England@aolmail are you considering replying to this tweet? I’ve had another response from AOL ‘support’ team which is useless. Please DM today.
-
Mike Yardley (@YardleyShooting) reported from City of London, EnglandI was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. If it doesn't work, they shouldn't take my money. @TalkTalk is a useless outfit too. I was called for months by fake Indian call centres after their data hack. My home internet sucks. @AOL @Ofcom
-
Doug (@dougmortonagain) reported from Ealing, EnglandThe first PlayStation came out, and Macs transitioned to Power PC. AOL is launched. Amazon was founded. Microsoft announces it will no longer sell or support the MS-DOS operating system separately from Microsoft Windows
-
Paddy 🇵🇱 (@slavicking18) reported from Windsor, EnglandI still have an AOL email address so never question my loyalty
-
Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, EnglandI’ve been with AOL all my internet life. Just recently it keeps telling me my password is wrong; I put the same password in again & it’s alright for a while. Today emails appear then suddenly vanish, is @AOL trying to dismiss me. Help!
-
Mark Newman (@Mark_BeerArt) reported from Epsom and Ewell District, England@liampowersjr @NorthmanTrader @Tesla Fully agree by the way, Tesla is strange, but I think some of this isn't just cars but their battery technology....never understood it myself. Never understood AOL time Warner, even wrote a paper on it for my MBA and got the lowest mark out of all my papers.

-
Tullocarm (@Tullocarm) reported from Lambeth, EnglandSo frustrating @SkyHelpTeam. I'm cancelling my direct debit. Screw your 'service'. I'd rather bring back AOL dial-up 😤
-

AOL Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
George Kanakis (@GeorgeKanakis) reportedMost mega-mergers fail because companies focus on the deal size, not the integration. AOL and Time Warner proved that $165B means nothing without a solid plan. When you're buying or selling a business, the real work starts after the handshake. 🤝
-
The Psycho Analyst (@TheRealBirnbaum) reportedThis is not nearly as dramatic as it sounds. Anyone who thought this first iteration of AI was the final frontier was kidding themselves. It’s like thinking AOL would lead internet into the future. AI is going to undergo massive changes. That doesn’t make the current products “wrong” or a “mistake”. That’s like saying Stephen Curry sucks because Michael Jordan is the goat. It makes zero sense. It’s obvious to anyone that Anthropic has completely changed the world. But the world is going to change again many times.
-
the Exile (@macrovig1) reported@Soaringeagle45 19…never got an AOL address
-
⚫️ (@quibbler) reported@JDelpine @RealDonKeith Until they shut down the service, AOL included a ton of general tools, including FTP and SSH proprietarily proxied through one port... that would line-item opened on almost any firewall because inevitably some executive had screamed that they couldn't connect to AOL from the LAN. It was like a golden walkway through perimeter security by going through the kids area.
-
мj JocD (@mjbrr669) reported@AOL Wtf is this that sound hot but still I can't think of it clearly..
-
Don't Call Me Ryan (@JohnFnDoe) reported@brokenciggies My little brother meet his current wife on AOL Instant Messenger when they were teenagers... When they finally decided to meet IRL they never left each other's side. Still happily married.
-
Andy McQuade (@Andy_McQuade) reported@jchal Now flip that to the most credibility as a real estate developer - Call yourself nothing - AOL email - Flip phone with the same number for 30 years - Price everything to the penny - Work in your 15-year old truck - Ask "how can I help?" - Repost nothing, no social media - Create value
-
🐝 🐝 (@zig_tothe_zag) reported@ aol **** I’m old
-
Abe McAlpin (@AbeMcalpin) reported@luireigns the merger Time Warner AOL killed WCW. WCW had issues but when people not in creative don't want wrestling you try crap that most likely won't work because budget is cut and power is lessened to creative.
-
The watcher (@Observation1988) reported@yamanakanobody @SojuConnoisseur Don’t feel too bad, back when AOL (American Online) was the internet provider, I was like what the hell is :)
