banned. It happened to me over 10 years ago on the old #AOL travel message bds. I simply set up my own website & never involved myself with travel bds again. Some of the bullies became monitors on travel advisor's bds. W/o proper monitoring, sites become the domains of bullies.

@AOL Aol should get their stories straight. Tried to lower my costs and agreed to $5 plan, but still being billed $18.95. Can't get right person to correct problem. HELP. Long time user of AOL. HELP!!! Thanks in advance.

@slukas I imagine that if email hadn't existed prior to the internet we might instead have had a service provided by a single company with lock-in. Don't think there's a good example going from closed to open-platform other than the web itself washing away AOL/Compuserve in the 90s.

@SaltyJayyycob In no era was the ability to have access to either cry or see others crying about dumb **** within hands reach 24/7. BBS's had them but no one had BBS's. AOL had them but mom was waiting for a call. Forums had them but still not as easily accessible is this **** we're on now.

@KierninRhys @WeaponizedRage WB and UPN were started In 1995...As an attempted competitor to FOX. They ate **** and money was never made on the venture...ESPECIALLY For WB who nearly DIED after the AOL Time Warner Merger failed.

The first livestream concert I ever saw was a Counting Crows show on AOL, I believe lowered by RealPlayer. Audio was bad and poorly encoded, and the video was an extremely pixelated slideshow of one picture per 5 seconds that were about 30 seconds behind.

I believe Twitter will become a pit. Remember AOL chat rooms? Initially, they were fun. Everyone was friendly and the novelty offered an exciting, new experience. But it didn't take long for them to devolve into the worst humanity has to offer. I see that happening here in time.
