@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport Poor you. How mean-spirited of them to seek a collective agreement for all clubs rather than allow disingenuous overseas multi-millionaire owners a free marketing opportunity for their own film company.

@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport The removal of the blackout would only benefit the Premier League and even then would only go to the biggest clubs and quite frankly they don't need the help.

@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport But saying that. 3pm blackout should stay in place. If certain clubs with smaller fan base start to struggle and fans think, I'll stay at home and watch in TV, these clubs would go under. #keep3pmblackput

@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport The 3pm blackout is years old Ryan it’s a shambles it needs to be ditched in this day and age .

@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport Problem is.. no one would go to the stadiums, or certainly not as many. And not every club has 2 celebrity owners to attract international streams.

@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport And this is the current problem with English football tv rights! The prem get billions, then there’s a huge jump to championship rights and L1, L2 and national get a pittance, I’ve said all along it’s completely unfair and it’s done to keep the small teams small!
-
PureH
(@PureH11) reported
@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport Basically, half your matches wouldn't be streamed anyway thanks to the 3pm Blackout, which is for all Football in the UK which is to encourage people to actually go to the grounds instead of staying at home and 9 times out of 10 would watch a prem match over the lower league.

(@andybirks_) reported
@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport Be careful what you wish for. Streaming has definitely impacted (circa 20% less) championship attendances plus incremental spend on food/drinks and club shop due to lower footfall. This was mainly midweek games. Got to protect 3pm Sat blackout for steaming as piracy risk.

@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport Trouble is Ryan, not every club have the popularity that you have brought to Wrexham. You would bring 1000s of armchair fans from over seas that will further enhance Wrexham but this would not happen for the 23 other clubs.the exposure N /league clubs get from BT is already 👌

@VancityReynolds @Vanarama @btsport Is your proposal that the home team keeps all the revenue, in the same way that the home team keeps all the revenue for league games? Have no real issue for overseas streaming if so.
