An update to this story: On Friday night, after spending 2 1/2 hours on @EE's tech help chat line, I was finally able to chat to a senior staff member who solved the "no data" issue within 5 minutes (hurrah!). He also promised they'd give us the deal we'd been sold by @bt_uk

And the problem all along? @EE's sim card setup process hadn't overwritten the file with data connection settings that @bt_uk's sim had installed. Simply deleting the file sorted the problem.

@bt_uk brilliant response to an outage yesterday in my village. My mini hub arrived less than 24 hours after the issue (which had been resolved anyway) . Very impressed with the proactively. I have a solution if any further issues. Thank you !

@bt_uk Still waiting for my ‘free post bag’ to send back the WiFi equipment I eventually managed to collect from the wrong sorting office I didn’t ask it to be sent to? Thoughts? And I better not be charged for services? Ya feel me? Thanks, I work in customer service, you guys rock 👍

@SketchLisa @bt_uk Go to EE. I left BT for the same reason, the first thing they say when you phone them with a problem is " if the fault is found in your property then you will have to pay. EE are absolutely brilliant, they are very prompt and keen to sort out any problems. An excellent company.
