So i've rang up to speak to @EE about the spam text from yesterday Most of EE claims to still be shut because holidays The lady was rude to me, argumentative, insists they didn't send it their only advice is 7726

Jen ⚡
(@leoniedelt) reported
@Skeptical_kanga @EE She would not confirm that. She said i knew more about it than she did. I asked if it was the EBS, why should i be forced to turn it off, potentially preventing myself from receiving Actual Emergency information in future? She said she couldnt say, report spam to 7726

@leoniedelt @EE Yeah it came via the emergency broadcasting system. So technically she was right, but shouldn’t have treated you that way.

@DavidLevan15 @leoniedelt @EE so the UK mobile networks actively allowed their network to be used for spam text messages.. that doesnt sound like it should happen

@EE how fo i cancel my broadband now that my broadband contract is ending
-
Brian Morrison 😁 🌸
(@tyrbiter) reported
@leoniedelt @EE They didn't send it, it was injected via a government-mandated emergency messaging facility that all the networks are required to support. It doesn't need to know phone numbers, it uses the IMSI directly as that is what the network uses to contact a phone.

@EE hi, for the past couple of weeks I’ve been struggling with network connection on my phone in New Addington. It’ll keep dropping to 3G or have incredibly weak 5G signal. I’ve had calls with horrible quality or even completely drop. Could someone please advise?

@EE how can I stop 'NHSBooster' sending me unsolicited spam SMS over your network? Why did you agree to send these messages with no unsubscribe mechanism?
