@adamconder @OllieBrkr @giffgaff Iโ€™ve experienced that occasionally on Three also, but I found that restarting my iPhone fixes the problem, so Iโ€™m beginning to think itโ€™s actually an iOS issue rather than a problem with the network.

@1BenBaller @giffgaff Itโ€™s on its way back but why annoyed me was that @giffgaff didnโ€™t seem to care. I was told to contact apple support. Erm no. If I buy a phone then I expect it to work

@WilliamNB @giffgaff @O2 Have you asked for a different SIM? Otherwise I'd be tempted to switch as there is so much more competition now. I don't like poor service.

  • MXOFO
Lee (@MXOFO) reported from Newburn, England

My @ThreeUK contract ends at the end of this month. Got an email the day before they announced theyโ€™re dropping their free roaming trying to convince me to renew. No thanks. Iโ€™m off to @giffgaff. I donโ€™t give my custom to companies that fail to keep their word.

  • TyneTom
Tom Bailey (@TyneTom) reported from Whitley Bay, England

@gazza_d @KarlOnSea @girodilento I did hear that you are further down the priority list for bandwidth congestion with giffgaff than O2. (Also in a macho - mine is bigger than yours kind of way, I have more data than you are allowed buy, 40GB. Travelling a lot these days)

  • gazza_d
Real Gaz on a proper bike #fbpe (@gazza_d) reported from South Shields, England

@WilliamNB @giffgaff If it works elsewhere and other networks work then yes switch to one that works. But maybe don't pick another provider that uses O2 network.

  • artfulalchemy_
    Andy Roberts (@artfulalchemy_) reported

@AvonandsomerRob I think thereโ€™s a fine line these days between PAYG and rolling contract. For instance is a Giffgaff sim registered in your name and set to auto top up from your bank every month truly PAYG or is it really a rolling contract ? The interesting figures would relate to the amount of PAYG sims that are not registered to a legitimate name and topped up via voucher paid for by cash. While I am sure the above does not automatically mean questionable usage if you could combine that data with number of sims that appear on the network and drop of after a few weeks, maybe a month or so never to be seen again you may have some indication of criminal usage.

@Glen11Glen @dbcxptures That sounds fair. GiffGaff could be cheaper by a couple of pounds but little in it. Others have also mentioned the O2 network is pretty rubbish for mobile internet.

@7armer @lateantique @Gio45ive Mobile Virtual Network Operator. A network with no (or almost no) physical infrastructure that piggybacks off of another network. Giffgaff and Sky Mobile are on the O2 network. VOXI and Lebara are on the Vodafone network.
