@PostOffice I spoke to The staff at WH Smith where the post office is located & they were surprised when they closed at 1. I then went to the Royal Mail depot to see if they could help & they werenโ€™t even aware that it had closed at 1, as far as they knew it was still open

Peter Baker, MA. ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ #NUFC 'till I die ! (@PeterBa82304711) reported from Reading, England

@johnredwood @YvetteHenson 1/2 And why did the #PostOffice & #Fujitsu ignore &/or hide the fact that there were significant problems with said it system, preferring instead to shift the blame onto totally innocent people ? At least one of whom was told not to mention the system in legal/proceedings/Court !

@leckston Admittedly it's not the business itself that's causing rhe disruption to mail services but I agree that #RoyalMail & it's #PostOffice arm haven't really acted like the official mail service for many a year. Maybe it is time the lost the 'Royal' prefix status. @10DowningStreet

  • annief1
Anne ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› (@annief1) reported from Didcot, England

@PostOffice I would also like to point out. The staff really should make people aware of this. The assistant (female) not the older lady, is rude too. I don't live here but my daughter in law does, and assistant is always rude.

@PostOffice I feel really really let down & will be lodging a complaint. Please can you provide the phone number for you complaints department

  • millennial_tom
Tom Sargeant (@millennial_tom) reported from Reading, England

So @parcelforce say they canโ€™t do anything because I handed my parcel in @PostOffice who subsequently incorrectly gave it to @RoyalMail. In fact the only team who seem to give a damn are @WHSmith where the @PostOffice are located!

  • RockBoxRecords
The Rock Box Record Store (@RockBoxRecords) reported from Camberley, England

@101andyhibberd @PostOffice @farnhamherald To make you feel better Andy, same situation in Camberley today. Self services machine not working, 2 tills and 12 people in queue. Oh & one till then closed after serving 1 of 12 to cash up or something. 20 minutes later......

  • millennial_tom
Tom Sargeant (@millennial_tom) reported from Reading, England

@WHSmith @PostOffice I am at the @PostOffice now trying to work out what is going on. Kudos for responding. They say they canโ€™t help in any way.

  • annief1
Anne (@annief1) reported from Didcot, England

@PostOffice Absolutely appalling customer service, IN Didcot PO today. The one inside Whsmith. .. Serving me and discussing the Christmas Party they can't, have with colleague! Always time for this after but not during service. Customers come first. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. #postoffice

  • annief1
Anne (@annief1) reported from Didcot, England

@PostOffice Thank you. I have worked for a PO, I used to run one in the 90s. . I am also trained in Customer care. There is nothing wrong with chatting at work. But the customer comes first. You don't chat to another colleague, about something irrelevant whilst serving. Thank you.

  • Munzhedzi_Muk

@LilywhiteSimon @PostOffice Damn. Thats disappointing, I think royal mail requires this invoice when claiming cos they know you aint getting it, ever.

  • CamberleyDan
Dan Adams (@CamberleyDan) reported from Camberley, England

The new Camberley @PostOffice rules of only being allowed to use self service machines surely will cause some difficulties for some members of the community

  • millennial_tom

@Cremedevape @PostOffice @WHSmith @parcelforce @RoyalMailHelp Absolute comedy of errors going on here. I wouldnโ€™t mind much, except this was a really important package to me!

  • FionaLegal
Fiona Anderson (@FionaLegal) reported from Wokingham, England

Thanks very much Roger Gale of the @PostOffice - great business acumen. How pleased he must be with himself for getting rid of well known staff, a decent post office and a decent service to replace it with bargain basement b.s. of a "post office" with nowhere to pick up parcels!

  • annief1
Anne ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› (@annief1) reported from Didcot, England

@PostOffice I posted a normal package 3rd December and its still not arrived. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. Apparently many have had a problem, with this date. So lady in Didcot / coop p/O said.

  • Jennifer_Cowton

  • tommyhozza

@joshjay1969 @RoyalMail You might want to tag @PostOffice as @RoyalMail is a different company... "my golf just broke down... damn you vauxhall" ๐Ÿคฃ

  • Neeknowsbest
Kim (@Neeknowsbest) reported from Didcot, England

@PostOffice Took some old notes to local main Post Office to be told you no longer exchange them, or allow them to be paid into bank account. No wonder Post offices are closing all the time. No longer offering a service to the community.

Omg I do a manifest every time and my parcels never get processed or processed incorrectly and then Iโ€™m left in a state wondering where the rest are until I can contact the PO again.. I even highlight on the manifest @PostOffice what happens if a sack of parcels goes missing?

    Artur Nadolny (@ArturNadol7566) reported

POST OFFICE SENT INVESTIGATORS TO SEARCH A FRIDGE FOR MONEY Sharon Brown and Kevin Brown took over their Post Office branch in Pennywell, Sunderland, in 2006. A few years in, the Horizon system @PostOffice started showing shortfalls. Sharon assumed the fault was hers. By 2012 she was suspended over a ยฃ36k discrepancy that never existed. Investigators arrived at her home. They searched the fridge. They went through the kitchen cupboards. All hunting for cash that was never gone in the first place, because a computer glitch does not hide in a Tupperware box. Sharon and Kevin used their life savings to pay back a debt invented by a faulty IT system. Kevin called it "a massive black hole." They are still in debt today. Two charging orders remain on their home. Sharon has spoken about the period around 2013 and 2014 when the stress brought her close to taking her own life. What stopped her was a photo of her sons, Adam and Callum, on the wall. She has said "I wouldn't be sitting with you now" if she hadn't seen it. Their old branch doesn't exist anymore. It's a shop selling vapes, cakes and milkshakes now, lit up with a rainbow LED sign. Sharon went back to see it once. Her heart was racing before the car even stopped. She no longer speaks to family members who doubted her at the time. No fridge search fixes a debt that was fake from the start. No apology from head office undoes 14 years of two people quietly bankrupting themselves over a software bug. The Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry @PostOffInquiry keeps hearing stories exactly like this one. Post Office keeps saying sorry. Sharon and Kevin keep paying off a debt that a computer made up. @ArturNadol7566 @PostOffice Isnt it funny how a lot of these post offices that had these issues appeared to be in the Midlands or North of England? Similarly the BMW E39 engine problems all seem to be clustered in the North also? They blamed it on the chemicals in fuel didnt affect rest of UK or Europe!.

@lily_lna @PostOffice Why do you dress up in a posh evening dress to nip down to the local post office?

  • origtxtigress
    theoriginaltexastigress =^..^= (@origtxtigress) reported

@lily_lna @PostOffice People, she was a customer, not an employee. Personally, I would not have worn something like that to run errands, but hat's just me. Maybe she was on the way to an engagement where the dress was appropriate.

  • keira_con

Wow @PostOffice I see a well dressed woman who could be on her way to an event or a wedding using your services would you treat a person who spent the day on a beach who was wearing a wrap the same way. ?
