  • cjluck84
    Chris Jennings (@cjluck84) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK You could just cancel the direct debit, and tell them to **** off. What they gonna do? It's unsecured debt. She's elderly. Is she gonna be taking out credit cards? Doubt it. Tell them where to go. Sign upto Virgin instead.

  • PaulGallantNUFC
    BritainsGotGallant (@PaulGallantNUFC) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK Why couldn’t your MIL just say no and hang up? Not the sales advisors fault at all

  • PorscheTime
    PorscheTime (@PorscheTime) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK My 77yo MIL was recently scammed out of 75,000 by fraudsters and M&S, MBNA and Santander also loaned her 20,15 and 20k . Problem is she didn’t apply and is a pensioner living alone, half deaf and early stage cognitive decline . The police are looking into the fraud which involved clearing her savings accounts at BoS, opening a Revolut and Kraken crypto account to funnel all the money to from her savings accounts and the loans on top. To say the BoScotland, Revolut , M&S, MBNA and Kraken have been unhelpful is an understatement of enormous proportions. The elderly need better protection from services that insist they hold online accounts. How does anyone lend a 77year old 55,000 in 48 hours with no affordability checks or veracity checks and then only want to talk about paying on time. The elderly are so vulnerable online and none seems to give a monkeys. BoS allowed over 130,000 to flow in and out her bank account over an 8 day period on an account that averaged 280 pounds per month flows over the last 2 years and total balance never changed more than 1-2,000 in that time. M&S will lend online easily but to complain or speak to anyone about you have to write to them and after doing so they refuse to discuss it . The elderly are cannon fodder online.

  • moreprecious52
    Samantha Gibbs (@moreprecious52) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK Good for you! That’s Sky for you! I no longer have Sky only use their broadband because their bills are extortionate. No value for money. Awful. BT are also the same treat their elderly and vulnerable customers badly.

  • DelanceyUK
    Mel (@DelanceyUK) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK You'll get the Sky TV automated twitter account response in a minute. Telling you they don't do customer support here. Not sure what their point is honestly.

  • NN121314
    Neil Nicholls (@NN121314) reported

@kinlochleven7 @jammierooroo @SkyUK Same at Virgin. And EE, I was looking to cancel a monthly sim and could only do it by phoning them

  • h_chris59114
    Chris H (@h_chris59114) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK Sky are some of the worst out there

  • SteveBreave
    Steve Boothby (@SteveBreave) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK How anyone pays £100 a month for a service like this defies logic.

  • timcaulfield
    Tim Caulfield (@timcaulfield) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK Stay calm (I get the irritation) and explain the vulnerable situation and point out there is a cooling off period so they need to make it where you want the package and will deal. Sky always have a "deal" cos they know losing a customer is often a permanently closed door

  • Doozerpindan
    Doozerpindan (@Doozerpindan) reported

@jammierooroo @SkyUK Is there a law that prevents companies from doing this ****? There really should be.
