@virginmedia It's not faulty. It's not a wifi or broadband issue. You don't have enough backhaul capacity.

@virginmedia 2/ Despite that issue being due to a junction connection in the cabinet in the street, the op seems to refuse to look at that and just wants to reboot my router. Also claims it is due to my use of Modem Mode. Is there anyone in the UK I can contact regarding this?

  • SteveDeery

@virginmedia After a couple more wasted hours and speaking to two more useless, rude and incompetent call centre operatives your customer retention team actually listened. Might help if ALL your call centres were UK based and had some compassion.

  • notdodgy
Roger Leitch (@notdodgy) reported from Solihull, England

@virginmedia You only pay out for a total loss of service. So it can be unusable but still limping along and you won't pay out. Personally I am hoping for another provider to get around to rolling out fibre in my area.

@virginmedia an outage in my area since Tuesday. There is supposed to be a means to register for compensation for loss of service, but the website doesn't contain any buttons to do so - are you making it difficult on purpose noting "if you do not register you don't qualify"?

  • startupheist
    Startup Heist (@startupheist) reported

Look up Scammer Payback on YouTube. This guy has 8.6 million subscribers. Over a billion views. His whole thing is picking up scam calls and keeping scammers talking for as long as humanly possible. Sometimes 40 minutes. All of it recorded, edited, posted. Content gold. Kitboga does the same thing. 3.6 million subs. Makes about $450K a year wasting scammers' time. These legends built an entire content genre out of revenge customer service. And they're both doing it manually in 2026. See the pattern? Smell the opportunity? Not yet? Okay: Virgin Media actually built an AI granny called Daisy in 2024. She answered scam calls, confused the hell out of scammers, kept them on the line for 40-50 minutes. 1,800 pieces of media coverage. After paying £20K to robo-granny and winning some big deal marketing award, they pat themselves on the back and just sayonara everybody. See it now? 52.5 billion robocalls hit Americans last year. 71% of people say they want a way to get back at scammers. The creators already proved the audience. The AI already proved it works. The product that puts them together — an app where an AI persona answers your suspicious calls, wastes their time, and turns the transcript into a clip you can post — is sitting right there. Jolly Roger Telephone Company already does a basic version. $1.2 million a year at $24 per subscriber. Running on ChatGPT. That's with zero creator tools and zero viral mechanics. Add auto-clipping, captions, one-click export to Shorts and Reels, and every scam call becomes a piece of content. The consumer app gets people in. The creator layer is where it prints. Use our playbook, or not, seriously someone build this already.

    Jessica Simpson 😺🐶🐾 (@Jess_Simpson645) reported

@virginmedia just trying to cancel an engineer appointment by phone. The amount of questions I am being asked to verify it’s me is absolutely ridiculous. They are wanting information that I will have to look up on my computer which is not to hand, so unfortunately they will have to turn up at my house and I will have to tell them they are not needed and I will tell them why.
