Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Birmingham and nearby locations:

  • Kagey_infohub Kate Gordon (@Kagey_infohub) reported from West Bromwich, England

@virginmedia I'll check, but slow connection and frequent drop is ongoing. We looked at switching but didn't move as not enough confidence in alternative ISPs tbh.

  • TeeKhan84 Tariq Khan (@TeeKhan84) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia problems with my phone line in B9 Birmingham.

  • malcolmwhittak2 Malcolm Whittaker (@malcolmwhittak2) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia @TomMockridgeVM We are currently moving house and trying to cancel our account unfortunately the call agents think it's funny to keep a client on the phone for 3 hours even more so they are happy to direct us to a department that is closed which terminates a call.

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia B744LG my neighbour is also having issues. Internet keeps dropping out so there’s clearly some sort of intermittent fault. I’ve wasted 45 mins on the phone trying to report it.

  • Chrisf2016 Chris fletcher (@Chrisf2016) reported from Wednesfield, England

So @virginmedia are increasing our bill again. We've been loyal customers since it was telewest even with all the problems over the years we stuck with you Well thats it. I will be finding another supplier 👋👋👋

  • licklemouse Stuart Cockerill (@licklemouse) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia tremendous service had problems with my tv service for 3 weeks now which you still haven’t sorted and now you put my bill up and to try and sort it all out I’ve now been on hold for an hour shocking

  • notdodgy Roger Leitch (@notdodgy) reported from Solihull, England

@virginmedia broadband down again. Obviously a network fault, but system has booked an engineer visit. Given that my contract is up for renewal and the cost has nearly doubled, I think I am in the market for a new provider.

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@stephanemassey @VirginMediaCorp You should leave Virgin Media, I can pretty much guarantee the service won’t improve and you’ll be left with no internet on a regular basis.

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@MrCMorley @virginmedia If it’s anything like the ongoing outage in Four Oaks they won’t bother to contact you. I checked they had my correct details and I’ve had no updates. I’ve now cancelled my contract.

  • foraneasylife Richard Baily (@foraneasylife) reported from Solihull, England

Waiting over 22 minutes thus far for @virginmedia to answer phone, as I have no broadband service. Service suddenly went when watching catch up tv. 🙄

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@BFILeigh @virginmedia @SkyUK I don’t know you but Virgin Media as a company are so bad they look Sky look amazing. If you can cancel and find an alternative I’d do it.

  • Kagey_infohub Kate Gordon (@Kagey_infohub) reported from West Bromwich, England

@virginmedia Not sure tbh- it took at least 2 hours for the update to complete. Our connection frequently drops and is slow.

  • chrispicken Chris Picken (@chrispicken) reported from Wolverhampton, England

    @HannahWestwood @virginmedia It’s on, it’s just slow. Supposed to be 350 and I’m getting 20.

  • DixeyBaker Sharon Baker (@DixeyBaker) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia trying to get some help with my router and I'm on hold for 20 mins then get cut off - no chat facility available and no email help - rather frustrating !

  • DixeyBaker Sharon Baker (@DixeyBaker) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia Thanks for replying! The green light keeps flashing which its never done - we had an outage in B14 yesterday- my internet is working and we have rebooted but its still flashing

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia I’m getting an access denied error message. A quick google suggests this is a common issue.

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@MrPaulTreadwell @virginmedia @Ofcom I’ve just spoken to a very rude lady in retentions. Have been lied to, apparently I was on the internet all day yesterday, I was in the office.

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@_gl_lxuise @SkyUK @virginmedia Same problem here. They keep saying they have fixed the issue when they clearly haven’t. They are good at putting prices up but not at fixing issues. I’m going back to Sky.

  • malcolmwhittak2 Malcolm Whittaker (@malcolmwhittak2) reported from Birmingham, England

@jwhitt1970 @virginmedia @TomMockridgeVM Hi Joe Virgin Media and Mr Mockridge think about money in the bank, Customer service isn't on the agenda, it feels like authorised theft as all the time and effort on the phone is time lost with no evidence relating to performance. #CustomerService

  • thephdrunner Dr Emma Neachell (@thephdrunner) reported from Birmingham, England

@Cee_langie8852 @virginmedia Yes, they are useless. No service most of yesterday and as of 0530 this morning, no service again. I’ve spent hours waiting to get through to the technical team. It’s time @ofcom got involved.

@virginmedia I keep getting emails about being late for 'my bills'. The account was in my name but was used by my partners grandfather, who paid for the service at his address. He passed the 7th dec, I've already tried to call and still keep getting texts and emails from virgin!

  • Nick_Boro1 Nick Dampier ✝️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 (@Nick_Boro1) reported

@LozzaFox @virginmedia They're useless and for an Internet company you'd expect them to let you cancel online but nope, they make you wait hrs in order to cancel with the best thing I ever did was bin them off for BT.

  • shellzenner 🐚 Shell Zenner 🐚 (@shellzenner) reported

@StoodUpTooFast @virginmedia which i couldn't do, i mean how unreasonable is 7am to 9pm?! they said they'd be back in touch to rearrange and no contact whatsoever, it's just terrible customer service for quite the fee.
