@virginmedia Hi, I have now tried unsuccessfully for 12 hours to use the WhatsApp service as again it goes around in circles if I am not immediately available. The number you helpfully provided hangs up after sending a link… please advise how I talk to someone about my account.

  • Stephen12857059
Stephen Bennett (@Stephen12857059) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia I called 150 today to speak to a Supervisor regarding my bill. I was told I would receive a call within the hour. NOTHING. I agreed a contract 18/8/22 and the last two payments have been £65 & £75 more than agreed. This is shocking customer care and service.

  • measlewolf
Steve Lees (@measlewolf) reported from Dudley, England

@virginmedia Yes, the fault dates back from the 25th August and hopefully a fix will be made tomorrow, if not an engineer is booked for next week. When I finally got through the team were very helpful

  • BrianMCape
Brian Cape (@BrianMCape) reported from West Bromwich, England

@virginmedia Just to let you know, I've taken the time to write out another complaint via the link. I've submitted and it says 'nothing to see here'. The link says response within 7 days, and the submission says 28 days, and then my portal says I haven't raised a complaint. ANOTHER FAIL

  • lvwlvs
LVWLVS (@lvwlvs) reported from Cheslyn Hay, England

@virginmedia That was the first thing I tried but nothing happened. It’s only when I power off at the wall, wait a minute then power on that it changes. Right now it’s working fine but this has been a recurring problem this week.

  • measlewolf
Steve Lees (@measlewolf) reported from Dudley, England

@virginmedia I’m currently on hold. My mum is in her 70’s and waited in for an engineer only for them to send a text 10mins before to say you were coming in the 26th. The original appointment was the 21st and her TV service has been down for well over a week.

  • AshleyDay1971

Virgin Media Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • KevinMuldoon
    Kevin Muldoon (@KevinMuldoon) reported

@virginmedia has to be the worst ISP in the UK. Currently raising a CISAS complaint against them due to how they're terrorirising my elderly mother. May have to take this to small claims too as it's impossible to speak to any UK staff who can resolve anything.

  • LOCthedreamer2
    Luke O' Connor (@LOCthedreamer2) reported

It's a scandal that these media companies spend your money in order to try and influence how you think. Virgin Media received 3 million euro worth of state grants from Coimisiún na Meain last year. They would never think of doing a documentary on how immigration has negatively impacted the economy or society, which is why it is so galling to see them propagandise the immigration scam in Ireland. #HowIrelandWorks

  • Trickyred59
    Andy Ward (@Trickyred59) reported

@virginmedia @TheAFC0522 Just had my monthly bill. £143. I'm assuming that next month the reduced charge will reflect this "functionality issue".

  • RJAldous1
    Richard Aldous 🍊 (@RJAldous1) reported

Hey @virginmedia how long does it take to sort out a connection issue as my broadband and tv went down about 14:00 and still just getting a flashing red light on my router (yes I reported it) these days it’s hard to do anything without internet access! 😡

  • LeeDeacy90
    Lee (@LeeDeacy90) reported

@virginmedia who in their right mind decided that a software update was a good idea on the weekend the Premier League launches. Literally had no issue with my Sky or Sky+ yet you choose to do a update on the weekend the football launches. Absolutely shambolic decision making.

  • _SonOfTheDesert
    Kaiser Soothsays (@_SonOfTheDesert) reported

@virginmedia No. Because it’ll end up as a hard reset and we’ll lose all our recorded stuff. When are you going to bring out a box that saves content to the cloud? That way, there’d be no issue.

  • stephenm68
    Stephen Maddock (@stephenm68) reported

In the meantime the @virginmedia ‘supervisor’ whom I waited 90 mins to talk to on Tues night, & who promised to escalate our outage to engineering so I could have SOME INFORMATION, has of course not been in touch Just like the other supervisor who made the same promise last week

  • GazzaAdams
    Gary Adams (@GazzaAdams) reported

@virginmedia I need this escalated as a formal complaint regarding fault **F012421201**, because the information Virgin Media is providing has now become demonstrably contradictory. At **08:01 today, 20 August**, Virgin Media told me: “Our engineer is on site and they're working to fix the problem.” The estimated repair time given was **18:00 today**. At **15:27 today**, after I have had intermittent service for most of the day and had to hotspot from my phone to be able to work, Virgin Media has now told me: “We have identified the problem and an engineer is on their way.” The estimated repair time has also been moved to **14:10 tomorrow, 21 August**. These statements cannot both accurately describe the progress of the same fault. An engineer who was already **on site and working on the problem at 08:01** cannot subsequently be **“on their way” at 15:27** without some explanation. I fully understand that a complex network fault may take longer to repair than initially anticipated, and that estimated restoration times can change. That is not my complaint. My complaint is that Virgin Media is repeatedly providing contradictory factual information about the status of the repair, while I remain without the service I am paying for. I consequently have no confidence in the estimated restoration times being provided. Please therefore: 1. **Log this as a formal complaint and provide me with the complaint reference.** 2. Confirm the actual current status of fault **F012421201**, rather than repeating the automated status information. 3. Explain how an engineer could be reported as on site and working at 08:01 but “on their way” at 15:27. 4. Confirm when the outage affecting my service officially began and that the full period of loss of service has been recorded against my account. 5. Confirm what automatic compensation I will be entitled to for the complete loss of service, where applicable. I have retained screenshots of the outage updates and their timestamps. Please respond to the specific points above rather than sending me another automated repair estimate.
