@virginmedia That might require quite an extensive overall of your infrastructure and servers however you could maybe start by answering the telephone - you are a telecoms company. Or does customer service fly out the window once the direct debits are set up?

  • tahmehtay Tahmehtay (@tahmehtay) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia seems to supply only just above half of the country, but if you change address to an area they don't supply YOU have to pay £240 exit fee. Do not use them if you can't see into the future and know for sure that you will never move. Insane!

@virginmedia The first agent was so rude the second very helpful said she hoped she had sorted the dates of my contract and the bill. But as yet the bill for March hasn’t changed l have no idea what is happening with the complaints. I’m so worn down by it all.

  • tahmehtay Tahmehtay (@tahmehtay) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia is trying to charge me an exit fee of £240 because I am changing address. I would continue with their service, except THEY don't supply the new address. How is this OK? How is such a large company getting away with such a brazen scam. Wow!

  • HopeFord1994 Hope Ford (@HopeFord1994) reported from Tamworth District, England

@virginmedia Day 10 of no internet, partner has rang countless times spent the best part of 5-6 hours in total to various departments. Terrible as a new customer!

  • azoidismd Dr Ioannis Azoidis (@azoidismd) reported from Birmingham, England

@virginmedia Yes, everyone is sorry and everyone understands but no one wants to help. I still haven’t cancelled and you ask me to pay early cancellation fees after raising the prices. If not talking about the current contract I stayed a customer for almost 4 years even with the abuse I got.

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • MrBradteaches Mr B (@MrBradteaches) reported

Think twice before buying anything from @virginmedia folks. Fiancée distraught after 2 hours on the phone trying to cancel our deal. Front line worker told she could get a new deal, transferred, mucked around and call handlers LAUGHING with managers at her. Absolute disgrace.

  • Dinsedale Dinsedale (@Dinsedale) reported

@virginmedia Hi the whole of my part of Wiltshire has been without internet, phone or tv for 7 hours. Theres next to no phone signal and none of us know whats going on?

  • jamienewman Jamie Newman (@jamienewman) reported

@jasonholland @virginmedia My parents have VM and have awful service. Tried their WhatsApp support while I was there at Christmas and it was surprisingly painless, although it took a couple of hours of messages back and forth with delayed replies to get a resolution.

  • ChantalYale Chantal Yale (@ChantalYale) reported

@virginmedia Unfortunately you can help. Your router is rubbish and WiFi doesn't reach around the whole house, you don't do a WiFi guarantee and we've had engineers out, so there's nothing left to do except leave, thank you though.

  • markindittons dittonsguy (@markindittons) reported

@virginmedia Can you look into the customer experience when attempting to use online chat and WhatsApp? The chat function uses a tiny font, with grey text on a light grey which makes it really difficult to read particularly on a mobile device. I’ve been answering the same questions all day.

  • MrBradteaches Mr B (@MrBradteaches) reported

@virginmedia No, they discussed £143, which they knew we couldn't afford. After which, they dropped the same package to £140. We then asked to cancel, were transferred to someone who built what we asked for at £93. Then we were transferred again to be told it didn't exist (1/2)

  • denise_chesters Denise Chesters (@denise_chesters) reported

@virginmedia My uncle has gone into a nursing home and I need to close his account. Also I’m not a virgin customer so it would cost me to ring from my phone

  • Charlotte_lg Charlotte Grannell (@Charlotte_lg) reported

@virginmedia I upgraded my package and was told on the call the price of the new package was £89 which included internet, tv, phone, a virgin SIM l and an o2 SIM. I then received a bill of £148. I rung to query this and I am awaiting a resolution but since had an email to say it’s resolved?

  • tollsterster tollsterster (@tollsterster) reported

@virginmedia 😳 I've just said what the problem is if you'd like to reread

  • Rybo_Senpai Ryan Thomson (@Rybo_Senpai) reported

@virginmedia And the intermittency of it then less than 1mb connection speeds, it is essentially meaning I will be having absolutely no service at all period
