This might explain some of the pundits’ outrage (presumably who’s income is currently ******* with said broadcasters). The fact Gary Neville’s rant is all over Twitter though presumably content owned by SkySports and not being taken down makes it add up.

@NorthCoastRJA @SkySports @premierleague But that’s what I’m saying, what rule have they technically broken. They will still honour all their domestic commitments so can’t see how it would hold up legally to ban them.

@SkySports @GNev2 **** idea. But ex players aren’t in a position to talk about clubs being greedy and the poor fans when they all made a fortune playing the game. Thousands a week some to sit on a bench or spend months injured. Football has no idea about the rest of us.
