@VodafoneUK - he also gave no details about the contract such as how long it is for. He left us with more questions than we started with. He didn’t tell us how or when our service would be set up. After asking any question, he would simply repeat his previous answer in a patronising manner.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK You have my sympathy and condolences. I’d like to say I’m surprised by the behaviour of Vodafone. They caused my dad a lot of stress chasing him for debts he never owed. For all those reading this thread wondering about using Vodafone, caveat emptor.

@GeorgeMonbiot @Dr4OurNHS @VodafoneUK Many companies behave like this. Customer Services hardly work at all in any service industry these days. Sorry you went through it. We had a lot of problems with a utility company. Useless.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK My phone developed a fault that resulted in a monthly bill of £900. I rang customer help and was told by a very rude woman that it was my fault and I had to pay them. I cancelled my DD and of course they sent me debt collectors. I did pay eventually but felt cheated.

Brdband same poor service. tests via app say I have a problem, but never tell you exactly what it is, and you end up in a protracted "tech" message convo that never sorts the problem out. my contract period has ended, time for a change

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This doesn’t surprise me at all. My mother died in 2003 and trying to close her BT landline account was a nightmare. The person I spoke to kept saying “we need to speak to the customer”! Finally I went into the BT sales centre saw a charming lady and in 20 minutes I had finished.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I know how distressing this is. I had a problem with the DSS who after my Mum died said my elderly Dad had fraudulently claimed attendance allowance? After hours on the phone this was settled but months later Debt Recovery Agency threatened court action.
