Nicholas Mazzei (@Tsar_Nicholas) reported from Hook, England@pmalinski83 @SkySports @SkySportsPL @bt_uk I get why they avoid it, having been in the BT corporate affairs team until recently and wanting them for ages to take a stronger stand on these issues. It’s risky. But these companies have power and if they want to do something about it, here’s their chance

Jonathan Richards (@JR_1871) reported from Reading, EnglandJust lost my @bt_uk broadband - and they are saying it could be days before it’s repaired. I work from home. Disgraceful service. If I was days late with my payment they’d be all over me. If you’re with BT be warned. Apparently it’s due to us being in the ‘run up to Christmas’?

Henry Johnson (@HenryJ489) reported from Kingsclere, England@bt_uk Yes the password finally came in the post after several phone calls and hours on hold. Thanks for getting back to me, but the process can’t be good if it takes months to reply and it takes a moody complaint through twitter to get a response.

Trevor Chenery (@Krisp06) reported@countrymousie @btbusinesscare I wouldn't have thought so. You can keep your landline but you would need to move it -eventually - to a 'digital supplier' when the line service finally ends. However, I checked with Dr Google & his Elves & they made the following points which sound like very good news. "Starlink does not directly provide a traditional copper landline service, but it can fully replace one as part of the UK PSTN switch-off by supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. You can keep your existing phone number and handset by using a VoIP adapter connected to the Starlink router, suitable for replacing old copper lines. How it Works: Starlink provides high-speed internet, allowing you to use third-party VoIP providers (e.g., Plexatalk, Premitel) to make calls via your internet connection. Requirements: You will need a VoIP Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) to plug your existing telephone handset into the Starlink Wi-Fi router. Suitability: VoIP over Starlink is ideal for rural areas where copper is being removed, offering sufficient speed and reliability.Alternatives: If you do not wish to use VoIP, you may look at mobile phone-based solutions, which are also often used when replacing old copper lines. As the UK moves towards a digital-only network by 2027, switching to a VoIP service via a broadband connection like Starlink is a common solution." You need to find & check it al lout with a good IT man to help you through the key steps & stages. You may also need to invest in new telephone hand sets around your house to replace your old BT ones. You won't need wires to connect them, it all works digitally through the air.
