TalkTalk Issues Reports Near Dawlish, England

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Dawlish and nearby locations:

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

It started with @TalkTalk trying to be helpful. Their “tests” had detected a fault with our line - so the email said - and they would send an engineer free of charge to fix it.

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

.@TalkTalk NEVER listen to what you are saying to them. It now looks as if I will have to sue @TalkTalk for the negligence of their engineer in disconnecting our sockets unnecessarily. Aaaarrrggghhh!

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

The problem is that you cannot trust @TalkTalk. They lost our data to a plague of Nigerian hackers who pestered us daily. Then they gave us a new telephone number which was from another customer whose data had been lost.

  • annarosebotha Anna Botha (@annarosebotha) reported from Pinhoe, England

Wow @TalkTalk you are awful! We are trying to cancel our account as your broadband is terrible. The phone lines to cancel accounts is closed. If we don’t cancel today we don’t get our money back. How can we ensure we get our 30 day guarantee back please without the charge?!

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

.@TalkTalk then refused to send an engineer out to fix the damage they had done. They are insisting on me sending another crappy router as apparently they cannot test the line (despite saying at the beginning of all this that their tests had shown a problem with our wiring.)

  • kellyvicker Kelly Louise Vicker (@kellyvicker) reported from Borough of Torbay, England

@TalkTalk I was told Thursday I would be getting a call from a manager within 24/48 hours which hasn’t happened. I want to leave your company and you can’t even get that right let alone the 2 years of awful customer service and awful connection. I would like some answers please!

  • annarosebotha Anna Botha (@annarosebotha) reported from Pinhoe, England

@TalkTalk Your team have advised us to ring s number to cancel our account but it says it isn’t working?!

  • GHT_treesurgery Graham Trude (@GHT_treesurgery) reported from Aylesbeare, England

@TalkTalk you are by far the biggest pile of shite telecoms company out there. **** service, no customer service, I think you make it up as you go along. Never recommending you to anyone, actually I will go out of my way to steer people clear.

  • MandyPearse Mandy Pearse (@MandyPearse) reported from Teignmouth, England

@danslee @virginmedia That’s shocking customer handling Dan. If it’s any help I’ve actually found the guys @TalkTalk pretty good especially on tech issues around broadband.

  • Rudders3082 Rudders (@Rudders3082) reported from Exmouth, England

@TalkTalk hi my broadband has just gone down

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

We waited in for the engineer. Surprisingly he turned up on time. He said that he was here to fix the ‘bridge tap’ which was all he did. @TalkTalk said there was a problem with our internal wiring.

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

Now I use my own router rather than the dodgy Chinese one supplied by @TalkTalk. I was also fairly confident that there was no problem with our internal wiring but the ‘engineer’ proceeded to cut the wires to all our internal sockets.

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

So two number changes later, we no longer use the landline much. We’ve now got no extension sockets despite not ever having a problem before. We’ve spent hours talking to @TalkTalk but there’s one big problem....

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

I then spoke to a fault manager who also said the problem was my router. I told him that the fault was with the external BT Openreach wiring. I plugged in the crappy Huawei @TalkTalk router and lo and behold there was an external fault.

  • nuggyleach Amanda Leach (@nuggyleach) reported from Exeter District, England

@Peter_Follett @virginmedia Try TalkTalk. I left a Virgin £80 per month 'Faster Fibre' TV + phone package in December. Connection always dropping..Had no problems with our internet since and now pay £35 capped for 24 mths! Plus their live chat is much quicker than trying to get hold of Virgin!

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

I tried @TalkTalk’s ‘live chat’ to explain that their engineer had decimated our house wiring but I was then told the problem was my router. (Lesson to self -Do NOT use live chat)

  • alanprice65 Alan Price (@alanprice65) reported from Borough of Torbay, England

@TalkTalk Hi. I'm losing hope here. Are 0808 numbers free from TalkTalk landlines with no 60min limit, as shown on your website? I'm being told I get charged for all 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers. Help!!!

  • Mr_John_Harvey_ John Harvey 💜 (@Mr_John_Harvey_) reported from Exeter District, England

Update @TalkTalk - the signal is now dropping out approximately every 10 minutes... I’d like to get some work done today - the router is at present successfully thwarting me... 😬

  • shaldonangler Stuart Reynolds (@shaldonangler) reported from Shaldon, England

He then pronounced that he had ‘improved’ the speed and left saying it would get better still in a couple of days. The problem was that there was no change - other than courtesy of @TalkTalk we no longer had working extension sockets.

  • drumting James Sharp (@drumting) reported from Totnes, England

    Internet down again @TalkTalk 🙄

@talktalk another lunchtime wasted trying to make a formal complaint but being fobbed off by your employees apparently keen not to let this escalate. You're service has been nothing short of disgraceful

@DeborahMeaden 'Asked by the BBC whether customers’ bank details had been encrypted by TalkTalk, she said: “The awful truth is, I don’t know”.'

  • AndyGibsonTV Andy Gibson (@AndyGibsonTV) reported

On @SamsungMobile Tablet/Android Phone I'm having trouble logging into #EMAIL that was on the old #Tiscali server which has now amalgamated with @TalkTalk. Everytime I try to login it says sign in failed. Is #TalkTalk down just now or is there something wrong with my devices?

  • mdotcombullish Max Plowman (@mdotcombullish) reported

@TalkTalk absolute joke, setup with fibre couple months ago , asked if I can transfer to new house as moving in a couple months. Javelin phoned to do the move, can't do it, had to cancel my old one and setup a new contract. Now found out they can't supply WiFi to where I'm moving

  • Scareyrara Sarah Alldrett (@Scareyrara) reported

@TalkTalk Talk talk this really is becoming a joke if my broadband isn’t working it’s buffering all the time beginning to feel that dial up would be the best way to go currently seem to be paying for half a service all the time

  • gaming_huskies GamingHuskies (@gaming_huskies) reported

This meant I lost my ability to receive rewards for something I had no control over. I've screenshotted the penalties I received sent at the same time and also the text message I received from TalkTalk this morning when my internet was turned back on. Please fix this! (3/3)

  • _palvinder Palvinder Singh (@_palvinder) reported

@TalkTalk @ClimberHarry Can you explain then, why this does not count as service outage and why it isn’t displayed on your broadband service centre page?!

  • SidhiPandey4 Sidhi Pandey (@SidhiPandey4) reported

@TalkTalk Reading is also affected since yesterday morning. Internet is extremely slow. Is any timeline when it will be resolved??

  • AnneScribe Anne Cunningham (@AnneScribe) reported

@TalkTalk 1 of 2 So now I have a text saying I’ll be charged £30 for an engineer visit that didn’t happen - beyond an insult and a joke. It didn’t happen because when your engineer turned up I told him about the fault that never was, due to the planned works no one knew about.
