@simboman @stokeygurl @bt_uk Could not agree more! During my many calls with BT I’ve been told this is affecting tens of thousands of customer accounts. Waiting for my paper bill for which BT “kindly waived the £3 fee”. Luckily, I’m “out of contract” and hence able to move to another provider.

@bt_uk absolute crass service you guys have, I have been trying to get a broadband installed for the past 01 month but not getting any update from you guys. Absolutely pathetic service

@bt_uk typical BT broadband neglecting loyal customers - renewal prices for a customer of 6 years - charging WAY MORE than the market rate and WAY MORE than if I was a new BT customer. Shame on you, I thought those days of not caring about your long standing customers was over.

@bt_uk She doesn’t have an account with you. She was going to be a new customer. Seen as you didn’t come to install on the day agreed, and the installation didn’t take place. Surely there’s no chance of her being billed?

@bt_uk you’ve emailed me saying I can view my bill, can’t get into my account. Is there a problem with your website ??? Been like it all day and I’d like to see my bill !

@bt_uk 2/2 Subsequent calls & one did say there was 'a known issue'. Called before i went away & made a complaint that as I said earlier, was reported closed almost immediately after confirmation email said it was being processed

@countrymousie @btbusinesscare I wouldn't have thought so. You can keep your landline but you would need to move it -eventually - to a 'digital supplier' when the line service finally ends. However, I checked with Dr Google & his Elves & they made the following points which sound like very good news. "Starlink does not directly provide a traditional copper landline service, but it can fully replace one as part of the UK PSTN switch-off by supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. You can keep your existing phone number and handset by using a VoIP adapter connected to the Starlink router, suitable for replacing old copper lines. How it Works: Starlink provides high-speed internet, allowing you to use third-party VoIP providers (e.g., Plexatalk, Premitel) to make calls via your internet connection. Requirements: You will need a VoIP Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) to plug your existing telephone handset into the Starlink Wi-Fi router. Suitability: VoIP over Starlink is ideal for rural areas where copper is being removed, offering sufficient speed and reliability.Alternatives: If you do not wish to use VoIP, you may look at mobile phone-based solutions, which are also often used when replacing old copper lines. As the UK moves towards a digital-only network by 2027, switching to a VoIP service via a broadband connection like Starlink is a common solution." You need to find & check it al lout with a good IT man to help you through the key steps & stages. You may also need to invest in new telephone hand sets around your house to replace your old BT ones. You won't need wires to connect them, it all works digitally through the air.
