Instructions advise to call 150 with code 003 no options for activating said eSim on 150 and after having gone through about 3 attempts with the automated lady I have lost the will to live. Whenever I renew a contract they read me info about the landline being internet-based, & ask if I have a mobile should I need emergency services if the landline is unavailable. This is NOT progress.

Malcolm Sillick (@Malcolm_Sillick) reported@LeilaniDowding @EE Lellani, it's not just EE, it's everyone. Even those on cable (Virgin Media) still have to have the phone plugged into the router. Seems like a good idea, until you get a power cut (which can be supported by a back-up battery, which is NOT given as standard) If the internet goes down, then so does your phone. Great if you have a mobile, but if you live in an area with a poor mobile signal, so reply on 'Wi-Fi calling' in the house, then when the internet goes down, you also have no mobile service. It's called progress!!

Peter Jordan (@jordanpaj) reported@EE Thx. The issue is that many users are generally older not very tech savvy, (my neighbour is 92) and so could well end up with no service if there is a power cut.
