Also it appears that @O2 is having some sort of issue, my mobile data connection is so slow that royal mail could be a viable messaging alternative.

Matthew C (@coops153) reported@HoulihanFinn @Joe_Guy @O2 Exactly what I told them on the phone earlier as they shouldn't keep accepting porting requests that they know they cannot fulfill, it is misleading customers. I have informed Ofcom about it and logged a complaint. Never experienced anything like this from any other provider.
