@virginmedia Yes I have checked the service status, it is the first thing I do & all was fine. The issues is with the cable Ethernet & the phone connection in the Hub 4. I don’t use your WiFi setup as my house is fully cabled for networking. I am a Network Architect, so have done basic tests

  • chrisMU19
Chris (@chrisMU19) reported from Romford, England

@virginmedia I’ve had no internet for 6 hours. I’ve followed all online steps to fix it and none of them worked. Been on hold to 150 for 2 hours now. Can someone please assist?

  • mart_compton
MartinCompton (@mart_compton) reported from Bishop's Stortford, England

If there’s a company whose ‘welcome to…’ message when you call them is more hollow and meaningless than @virginmedia I’d be surprised. The depth of their customer ‘service’ crapness must be witnessed to be believed. Expect that to witness it is to lose years off your life.

@virginmedia We haven't had a stable connection since January and our internet drops out at least 20 times a day. Your customer service line is anything but useful, as no one seems to be able to figure out the issue that is causing this consistently inconsistent internet service.

  • LongshanksE10
Richard Astley (@LongshanksE10) reported from Bishop's Stortford, England

@virginmedia Thanks. Will I need to reboot my hub for the fix to take effect or will the service likely come back on its own?

For more than a decade, Stan Beaton held onto something that many people would consider priceless. It wasn't jewelry, money, or a photograph. It was the voice of his wife, Ruby. Ruby passed away from cancer in 2003. Before she died, she had recorded the greeting on their home answering machine. It became the last recording of her voice, and whenever grief felt overwhelming, Stan would play it just to hear her speak again. He was so afraid of losing that message that he stayed with the same phone company for years, believing it was the safest way to protect it. Then, in 2014, everything changed. Following routine maintenance by Virgin Media, the voicemail suddenly disappeared. Stan was devastated. He believed the final piece of his wife's voice had been erased forever. When Virgin Media learned what had happened, they refused to give up. The company assembled a team of 11 engineers, who spent three days searching through backup systems and archived data. One executive compared the task to searching for a needle in a haystack. Against the odds, they found it. When the recording was played back to Stan during a BBC Radio Leeds interview, he broke down in tears. "That's her... It's just a wonderful, wonderful sound that I thought was lost forever." Virgin Media later provided him with copies of the recording so it would never be lost again. Sometimes technology isn't just about cables, servers, and code. Sometimes, it's about giving someone one more chance to hear the voice of the person they loved most.

@virginmedia I left your service in June 26 after well over a decade with VM. Since that time I've been spammed with multiple emails saying' We’d love to ask you a few questions about your recent experience.' I am not here for your quality control. I am now with a rival of yours.
